Overview
Citavi Picker for Google Chrome
Citavi Picker saves the sources you find in your browser — journal articles, books, web pages — straight into your Citavi project. REQUIRES CITAVI The Picker cannot save on its own. You need Citavi for Windows on the same computer, or a Citavi account for Citavi Web: https://lumivero.com/products/citavi/ WHAT IT DOES • Detects references on the page and shows the count on the toolbar icon: DOIs, ISBNs, citation metadata, around 30 publisher formats. • Saves the reference in one step, from the toolbar panel or the right-click menu. • Looks up a book or article by its ISBN or DOI. • Adds selected text as a quotation. • Attaches a screenshot, or the page saved as a PDF. WHERE IT SAVES • Citavi for Windows with local or cloud projects. • Citavi for DBServer using the Citavi for Windows client. • Citavi Web, after you sign in with your Citavi account. WHY IT NEEDS ACCESS TO ALL WEBSITES A citable source can be on any site, so the Picker checks every page you open for bibliographic information. Detection runs locally; nothing leaves your browser until you save. PRIVACY Saving sends the reference, and any quotation, screenshot or PDF you included, to your own Citavi project. Sign-in uses OAuth on Citavi's own page. Your password is never entered in the extension. The Picker does not track your browsing, and diagnostic logging stays off unless you switch it on. Citavi is published by Swiss Academic Software GmbH, a Lumivero company.
