CIPHERO – KNOW YOUR SOURCE. UNDERSTAND THEIR MESSAGE. CIPHERO is a browser extension that helps you interpret content, revealing insights about the authors behind what you’re reading. It surfaces ideological signals drawn directly from each author’s body of work. WHAT CIPHERO DOES While you’re reading, CIPHERO lets you understand and decode the author’s ideological tendencies across multiple dimensions (e.g., economic views, cultural values, institutional trust). All of this happens with a single click, without interrupting your reading flow. HOW IT WORKS 1. Click the CIPHERO icon while reading an article 2. The extension extracts the author's name from the page, or, if unavailable, you can manually enter it. 3. The extension checks this name against a list of known author profiles. 4. Each author’s profile is built from the author’s published articles, video interviews, and other public content, all analyzed using a language model. Biographical information or affiliations are not used in our analysis, to avoid any bias. 5. If a match is found, a visual profile of the author is displayed across 40 axes, summarizing their societal, political, economic, and other viewpoints 6. If no match is found, the author is added to a queue for future profiling. This helps prioritize the most requested names PRIVACY BY DESIGN CIPHERO does not collect any personal data, browsing history, or article content. The only information processed is the URL of the page you're on (or the name you type) and only when you click the extension. - No tracking - No background activity - No third-party analytics Your reading behavior stays private.
