Overview

Record the tab you are on, with its clicks, and hand the take to TakeOne.

TakeOne records product demos. This extension is the recorder for the tab you are on: one click from the toolbar, no picker, and the take follows the tab through page loads. Tab audio and your microphone when you want them, the camera as a bubble. Chrome asks for the microphone and camera once, on a TakeOne page that opens in a tab. Clicks on any site, without adding anything to the site. Turn on Clicks and cursor and the extension writes where the pointer moved and clicked in the recorded tab into the take's events file, so the editor on takeone.dev can zoom to the clicks and mark each one with a ripple. Chrome asks once per site, the first time you record there; a take without that permission still records, and its clicks stop at the first page load on another site. The take is written to your computer as it records and uploaded when you press Stop. The link works at once; the video follows when the upload ends. Everything else lives on takeone.dev: the library, the editor, the share link, folders, and the API your agent uses. There is no AI inside the extension and it calls no AI service; you bring your own agent. It uses your sign-in on takeone.dev: sign in there as you always do and the extension is ready; sign out there and it is signed out too. Nothing is typed into the extension. It records only the tab you start it on, only while a take runs. A window or the whole screen is recorded from takeone.dev, where the picker lives. Your voice and camera. When you turn on the microphone or camera, the take also holds your voice and your camera video beside the recorded tab. Both stay off until you switch them on. They upload with the take to your own TakeOne account over an encrypted connection, and are used only to make and share that take and by the tools you connect to your account yourself. They are not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train anything. Deleting a take from your library removes its files. Shortcuts: Alt+Shift+R starts and stops, Alt+Shift+P pauses (⌥⇧R and ⌥⇧P on a Mac); change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
