Smart Trader - trading tools for Steam
19 ratings
)Overview
Trade offer summaries, item prices, quick accept of offers you choose, trade history and desktop alerts for new Steam trade offers.
Smart Trader adds trading tools to Steam's own web pages, for your own account and items. Trade offers • Summaries of every offer: stacks with counts; on a click, market prices of both sides and the difference • Big offers fold to their biggest stacks; "Show all" brings the rest • Quick accept for the offers you choose, with a trade-hold check first; a monitor follows each accept to its result • Desktop alerts with a short sound for new incoming offers and for finished trades • While an offer you sent waits for your confirmation in the mobile app or by e-mail, a phone button in the header shows how many (your sent offers are checked every 5 to 15 minutes while one waits); a click opens them • Offer value: what you get minus what you give by your price source ("+$x" green, "−$x" red, "≈" while a price is missing), a sum over the list and "Sort the offers" by profit — a hint only; Quick accept and auto accept never use it Trade window • Add N items, keys, metal, tickets or gems; take whole trading card sets (any number, chosen games, or sets you can still craft) — only the draft changes, you send the offer yourself • Market prices in the summaries, marks for items already in another active offer • Stackable items of other games can be added by number, part of a stack as the site's own amount dialog does it • Each side's summary sits below the item picker: the item tiles first (7 a row by default, foldable), then the list with prices and a copy button (the whole list with the totals); rows without a price are red; keys, tickets and gems count in the side's total at their cash price • When the site does not allow trade-protected items and other items in one offer, a note at the tile says why, and the add tools leave such items out and say how many Inventory and Community Market • Stacks of equal items, item marks (a killstreak's tier and sheen, a glyph for each kind of spell, a crate's series, the pictures of Unusual effects), a price list beside the inventory with totals • Big inventories: "Rows per inventory page" from 5×5 up to 5×200, whole-inventory loads paced under the site's own limit with the wait shown; optionally in minutes through an external inventory service with your own key (off by default, under the box of the optional third-party services; the cost is shown before the first call, a daily cap protects your balance) • Trade locks on the tiles of every game ("⏳4d", not tradable, trade protection) • CS2 items: each tile takes the colour of the item's rarity (a Doppler: its phase's colour) with the wear, float and phase or pattern in its corners, in inventories and the trade window; a float scale of the five wear ranges under the selected item's picture and in the trade window's item hover; a line with the wear, float and phase under each classic market listing; a "3D View" button (inventory item card, classic market listing pages, trade window) opens an external 3D viewer page inside a Smart Trader window (one window, reused) or, if you choose, in a new tab — only when you click it, with only the item's inspect link; Details shows the exact float, pattern seed and phase, decoded on your computer • Selling: "Review first" shows every price and the sums before anything is listed, or "Sell as prices come in" after a warning; quick sell from the order book; minimum and maximum prices per kind; an item whose listing still waits for your confirmation is never listed again • Card sets: complete sets, leftover cards, badge levels and the price of a set; crafting badges from sets after you confirm a plan with the XP and the levels • "My listings" tools: search, sort, remove, relist • Order book on an item's market page (classic layout) in place of the five-row tables: any of the market's currencies (converted by Steam), "Seller gets" after the fees for each listing, "You get" for each buy order, the step from the price before, more rows on request or the whole book; each column has its own switch • Fear & greed index beside "Listings" for items with enough data: a gauge, a 30-day line and, on hover or focus, its components (momentum, buy pressure, scarcity, volume, spread, volatility). Worked out on your computer from the page's price history and order book; it keeps a small history of the order book in your browser and sends nothing. An indicator, not advice: nothing is bought or sold because of it • The classic market pages instead of the new layout where the site still serves them (the market's home, the search, an item's page), on by default for new installations; an item page opened by a group's address opens the classic search for that group History, profiles and store • Item details and pictures in the trade and inventory history, held trades, search • Partner reputation from community reputation sites — off until you tick the box "Use the optional third-party services and sites" (empty on the first page); only the partner's public SteamID64 is sent (to one of these sites together with your own cookies for it, needed to pass its bot check) • Partner check buttons on trade offers, sent offers and the trade history: links that open the partner's page on a reputation site in a new tab when you click one (nothing is asked of these sites before); each button has its own switch, and the offers pages' own "Report" flag is hidden by default (a setting brings it back) • Store prices in other regions, package ids, cart history Price providers (several at once, in order — price presets; or one main source with presets off) • KEYS.LAND cash prices of TF2 keys, tickets and gems: on from the start and used with any preset or source; when its site cannot be reached, the latest prices are read from its public channel page (under the one box of the optional services below), marked with the post's time • Preset 1 by default: KEYS.LAND → an external price database → the Community Market → a marketplace's price list, as cash — the source higher in the list prices an item first, the next ones what it has no price of; your own presets, each with its own order • Market prices as the market price, as cash after the cash-out fee or as the balance you would receive (cash while the key prices above are on) • Show prices in: every price, total and tooltip in your wallet's currency (the default) or in any of the market's 39 currencies, converted at Steam's own rate (read from the market's order book about once a day) • Optional services, all under the one box "Use the optional third-party services and sites" of the first page (empty until you tick it; the page lists each one and what it receives): an external price database (market sales prices of a whole game at once; only the game and the time window are sent; once allowed, it is the default main source), a price service with your own API key, the public price lists of third-party marketplaces (only the request for the file is sent), the pictures of Unusual effects and the reputation sites. With the box ticked, pressing "I agree to the License Agreement and the data notice" also asks the browser to allow their sites, in one prompt; while it is empty, prices come from the Community Market only, the settings show a red notice and the Smart Trader button in the site's header blinks red until you tick it on the options page ("Allow the optional services and sites") • API keys are entered only on the extension's options page and kept by its background part; web pages never see them, and each key is sent only to its own service • Faster prices: for games and items the price database does not cover, market prices come from the market's search, many items per request; an item with no or few sales in the database's chosen period takes its 30-day price (the tooltip says so); while the Community Market is limited, the next source of the preset prices the items meanwhile; a price of too few sales is final, counted and shown in yellow (a preset of your own can ask the next provider instead); price floors save requests for items already known to be cheap • When a price source is unavailable, rate-limited or off, every price says so — which source, since when, how old the cached prices are and when the next try is Phishing and scam protection (experimental, off by default — turn it on in the settings; with its tab off nothing of it runs; with it on, every check has its own switch) • Security & Devices watched: a new session or device, a changed e-mail, phone or Steam Guard raises an alert with "Yes, it was me" and a button that opens that page (one small request every 20 minutes by default, from one tab) • Trade offers sent from your account but not from this browser, and the "your offer was cancelled, another one sent" phishing pattern: an alert that warns not to confirm anything in the mobile authenticator (the offer watch's counts, and its sent list at most every 5 minutes while one of your sent offers waits; for an alert, one read of the partner's public profile for the nickname it shows) • Items drawn by malware on your inventory page: what the page shows is compared with Steam's own server for every game, trade-protected items included (when you open your inventory, at most once every 6 hours by default; about one request per game) • Trade windows checked for a covered confirm button, another partner or wrong item counts (experimental, off by default) and look-alike friends in one-to-one web chats (group chats are never read) • A red banner on every open Steam page and a desktop notification with sound, even with the header's sound off. Only one-way fingerprints are kept; nothing is sent anywhere but Steam • With the tab on, also: a partner history chip on every offer and in the trade window ("7 trades · last 3 days ago", counted on your computer from the history pages you open, kept as one-way codes; "Forget partner history" deletes it) and an alert when you are signed out in this browser • With the tab on, also: Auto accept and Quick accept check the items of an offer against Steam's record of it, and auto accept takes a gift only once that record confirms it (with the tab off this check is off too) General • The header and the navigation panel in English, Ukrainian or Russian; tips and tours only after you ask (a blinking "?" next to the auto accept switch); a "What's new" card after each update • Settings backup: export to a file and restore from one — settings only, never keys, trade links, consents or the licence; a restore shows every change first • Smart Trader steps aside where another extension already draws its own floats on a page • Every feature reads the site's item texts the same in every Steam page language (other languages through an item's English description: one request per item class, cached); trade history dates in Ukrainian, Russian and 20 more languages • The item counts in the header are counted again once after each trade, never faster than the site allows Automation, only when you turn it on • Auto accept of gift offers (offers in which you give nothing) is off by default and cannot be turned on without your explicit consent, asked for when you first turn it on: "Allow automation?" with its own box, "I allow automation and accept the risk", unticked until you tick it (the options page's License section has the same switch). Once on, it accepts such offers in the background while a Steam tab is open; the same switch in the header turns it off. It never accepts an offer in which you give items or one with a trade hold, and never confirms anything in the mobile authenticator. You are responsible for what is accepted on your account; Steam's rules restrict automation. • Auto-cancel of trade offers sent from your account but not from this browser (Phishing and scam protection) is "Off" by default and needs the same consent: "Only on phishing signs (recommended)" or "All not sent from this browser". It cancels at most 5 offers an hour and never one you sent from this browser; offers you send from your phone or another computer count as not from this browser. • Automatic relisting of overpriced listings is off by default. Smart Trader does not replace Steam Guard: confirmations in the mobile app or by e-mail stay yours. Privacy • No analytics, no ads, no tracking; your data stays in this browser and goes only to Steam, to the key price service above and to the optional services you turn on. • Every optional service is asked only after you tick the one box (empty on the first page) and the browser allows its site, and only while a setting uses it; the key prices are on from the start (a switch in the settings turns them off). • The diagnostic log is off by default and never leaves your computer unless you send the file yourself. • Before anything runs, Smart Trader asks you to accept its data notice and License Agreement.
