Belarus Flag

Replaces the official red-green flag of Belarus with the historical white-red-white flag on supported websites.

Belarus Flag shows the historical white-red-white flag of Belarus on websites in place of the official red-green one. Belarus has two flags: the official red-green one and the historical white-red-white one. The white-red-white flag was the flag of the Belarusian People's Republic in 1918 and the state flag of independent Belarus from 1991 to 1995. After the 1995 referendum it was replaced by the red-green flag, a modified version of the flag of Soviet Belarus. For many Belarusians the white-red-white flag is still their own and only national flag. It was carried at the peaceful protests of 2020 and is used by Belarusians all over the world. This extension lets the world see that Belarus has another flag: the historical white-red-white one. HOW IT WORKS • Works on 68 supported websites: encyclopedias, social networks, travel, sports and news sites, chess and gaming communities. • Also replaces the flag drawn by popular country flag and phone number libraries that many other websites use. • Every supported site has a hand-written rule: the image of the flag is replaced with a white-red-white one from the extension, or the page's styles are patched where the flag is drawn with CSS. • On a few sites the official coat of arms is replaced with the historical one, the Pahonia. PRIVACY • Nothing is collected: no accounts, no analytics, no server. • The only outside request the extension can cause is the Pahonia image from Wikimedia Commons, on a few sites.
