We committed to using Chrome Sign Builder + Chromebits for digital signage on our campus. There was a learning curve at installation time which required a fairly significant amount of documentation. It works (most of the time) without lots of bells and whistles. The biggest drawback for me is that very little of Google's resources are dedicated to this project. We found fairly significant bugs in the product a couple of years ago that have yet to be addressed. (clicking a button kills the l... Show more

The software, while free, is very limited. When configuring the presentation, the transition time has to be the same, so it takes forever to get through a 50 slide presentation, where some slides need 7 seconds, and others only need 2-3 seconds.

This app has been serving us well as signage for about 10 TVs in our district, but since OS 69 was released, it has had issues with freezing and locking up. We are running this on Chrome Bits attached directly to the TVs. We had zero issues before they updated to Chrome OS 69.

It was a good start but seems like Google is not maintaining it. We need drive integration, a way to rotate assets and at least some basic "Builder" capabilities.

I watched a demo video on youtube and it was shown that after uploading a new configuration file the system should start automatically. However for some reason I have to reboot the chromebit device manually for the presentation to start. Is there a setting that I missed? Thanks.

Pretty good so far. Getting set up was a bit more complicated than anticipated, but now that we're up and running I'm fairly happy. Using with a Chromebit, attached to a monitor, and G Suite for Nonprofit. I didn't know until after purchasing the Chromebit that we needed a separate Chrome OS Nonprofit License (I assumed the hardware came with the license we needed). Had to go through a 3rd party vendor to get the license... I'll look forward to when Google sells these directly online like the... Show more

Ok I have one issue with this love to hear if anyone solved it. On Chrome OS devices the fullscreen button will get rid of the title bar on the sign window. When I run this on a Windows device the fullscreen button does not work and I cannot find a way to hide the taskbar on the sign screen. Looks awful to have a taskbar on a digital sign.

It was good for us for about a year. Then for whatever reason two weeks ago it no longer gave us the ability to make changes to an event dropped on the calendar. So we can no longer put an event in and make it extend past a day or alter it in anyway. Also, there is no way to import a schedule so if you loose the data in the extension, you loose everything you have worked on unless you just want to make all your edit in XML.

I wish it had more features but this is a good start! Like it a lot!

If there was an import function in the sign builder app it would be very useful
