Let the elf tell a joke

This is a simple app that will display a dad joke on the current page. To use, simply press the 'Add to Chrome' button to install the extension. Then, on any page, simply press Control+Shift+Q to make a simple joke appear on the screen. Each joke is picked randomly and will disappear after a few seconds, so be sure to make a note of any jokes you may like. To uninstall, open the extensions page for Chrome (click the ... menu to the right of the address bar, click extensions, then manage extensions) and then either toggle the switch off, or simply press the Remove button. This has only been tested on a Dell desktop running Windows 11, using an in-built keyboard and has not been designed to be used with Chrome for mobile platforms, and based on your configuration, it is possible that the joke will display differently. All the jokes come from icanhazdadjoke.com, all the jokes are theirs and their contributors, I claim no responsibility for any groaning or eye rolling which may result. Updated on 29 October 2025 to fix issues caused by an update to Chrome.
