Chore.md is a quiet, browser-native markdown editor designed for fast, distraction-free writing directly in your Chrome side panel. Open the side panel anytime to draft thoughts, format notes, or clip research from the web. Notes stay on your device by default, with optional account-based cloud sync. No tracking scripts in the extension, and no account needed to start writing. Sign in only if you want cloud sync. HOW TO USE 1. Click the Chore.md icon in your Chrome extensions toolbar (or press Command+Shift+E on macOS / Ctrl+Shift+E on Windows/Linux) to open the side panel. 2. Start typing in the markdown editor or choose a template. 3. Highlight text on any website, right-click, and select "Chore.md > Save as new note" or "Append to active note" to capture research snippets. 4. Use the AI toolbar to summarize or translate your notes entirely on your device. 5. (Optional) Connect your GitHub account or open a local folder to sync your files across workflows. PRIVACY & SECURITY Chore.md is local-first. By default your notes stay on your device. If you sign in and choose Cloud storage, Cloud sync, or GitHub sync, those notes are sent to and stored on Chore.md servers (api.chore.md) until you delete them or your account.
