Overview

See how ready a page is for AI search engines: an evidence-labelled score, a hygiene checklist, and which AI crawlers are blocked.

Chompr.io (https://chompr.io) checks whether the page you are on is open to AI search engines, and lists the hygiene fixes worth making. THE CRAWLER CHECK AI search engines use their own crawlers. If a site's robots.txt blocks them, its pages are less likely to be cited. In a published study of 1,600 observations (Tow Center, Columbia), pages from publishers that blocked an engine's crawler were cited about half as often. Chompr.io reads the site's robots.txt and shows the status of four crawlers: OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot and DuckAssistBot. The effect was not the same for every engine, and two of the four were not measured. Chompr.io labels which is which. THE HYGIENE CHECKLIST Chompr.io also checks structured data, page structure, named entities, answer-ready content and retrievability. Each item comes with a concrete fix, labelled measured, observed elsewhere, or convention. Most of the checklist is convention. It is good housekeeping, not a promise of rankings or citations. BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO SHIP PAGES - Pre-publish mode scores a draft on localhost or staging as it will be once live. - Compare a draft with the live page. - See raw HTML versus the rendered page, which is what a crawler that does not run JavaScript receives. - Read the site's llms.txt, robots.txt and sitemap from the popup. - Results are deterministic: the same page gives the same result. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Pages are analysed inside your browser. Page content and your browsing history are not sent to us. There is no account, no analytics and no ads. To check a site, the extension requests that site's own robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap files. FREE Chompr.io is free. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO The 0-100 number in the popup summarises the checks. It has not been validated against real citation outcomes, and Chompr.io does not claim that raising it will get you cited. The crawler check is the part with outcome data behind it.
