Overview

See recipe nutrition, read recipes from articles, and save, shop, or plan meals with Chive.

See recipe nutrition and ingredients while you browse. Chive finds recipes, creates nutrition cards, and lets you adjust servings without signing in. Enable automatic cards and Chive first checks the current page address for an existing public recipe, including on articles without recipe formatting. A match shows its card without uploading page content. If no card exists and the page looks like a recipe, Chive imports the recipe and prepares its nutrition. For a recipe tucked inside another article, open Chive from Chrome's extensions menu and choose "Find recipe on this page." Manual imports also work signed out and with automatic cards turned off. Open a card to see nutrition per serving, ingredients, serving controls, and publisher attribution. Nutrition may come from the publisher or be estimated by Chive. Chive may use AI to extract recipes and estimate nutrition. Sign in only when you want to save a recipe, add ingredients to your Chive grocery list, or choose a day and meal for your plan. Viewing or importing a recipe does not save it, add groceries, or plan a meal. You choose each action, and meal planning requires confirmation. Recipes imported through Chive's browser extension are public in Chive. After an address lookup misses, an automatic recipe import or your manual request sends a limited snapshot of recipe or article content. It can include selected recipe structured data, page metadata, image URLs, and visible text. Forms, editable fields, hidden content, comments, navigation, scripts, and styles are excluded. Raw snapshots are removed after processing or within 24 hours. Recipe lookup and import requests omit account tokens, cookies, referrers, and custom user or device identifiers. Common URL tracking parameters are removed, and public recipe records do not identify their importer. Chive does not read Chrome's browsing-history database or retain address lookups as a browsing history. Hosting providers still process IP addresses for network security. Connecting an account stores a revocable access token for the account actions you choose. Turn automatic cards off at any time in Extension settings; the manual launcher remains available. Chive does not sell extension user data or use it for advertising. Privacy: https://www.chive.recipes/privacy Support: https://www.chive.recipes/support
