Chinese Variants Linter
Overview
Detects inconsistent Chinese usage in web input fields and offers single-item replacement suggestions.
Chinese Variants Linter checks your writing for regional Chinese wording and character forms, so your text fits the readers you are writing for. Choose a target: Simplified Chinese, Chinese (Taiwan), Chinese (Hong Kong) or Traditional Chinese. While you type, the extension points out wording and character forms that do not match, for example "软件" vs "軟體", and suggests a replacement. Features • Underlines mismatches in text boxes and rich-text editors, with one-click replace, ignore once, or add to an allow list • Select text and convert it to your target variant in place • Built-in comparisons for common terms across Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong • Per-site switch; checking is off by default • Custom replacement rules, allow list and keyboard shortcuts • Interface in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) and Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong) Privacy All checking happens on your device. The extension does not upload page text, settings or dictionaries, and has no analytics or tracking.
