ChemistryLaTeX

Overview
Renders chemical structures, proteins, and minerals directly in ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI assistants.
ChemistryLaTeX is a Chrome extension for students and LLM-assisted chemistry workflows. Right-click any text, like “benzene” or an IUPAC name, to instantly render a 2D bond-line diagram or switch to 3D view no drawing, searching, or switching tools needed. Supports organic molecules, minerals, enzymes, proteins, and viruses. LLMs can trigger inline rendering using simple markup like chem:mol=toluene: similar to how MathJax displays math. Key features: * Organic chemistry rendered as bond-line diagrams with customizable options (aromatic rings, carbons, methyl groups, implicit/explicit hydrogens, etc.) * One-click 3D rendering for molecules * Enzymes, proteins, and viruses rendered from RCSB (2D or 3D, including biological assemblies) * Minerals rendered with their 3D lattice structures * Optional AI-controlled rendering flags (useful for teaching concepts like nomenclature) * SVG caching and lazy loading for performance Customization: Dark mode, Multiple themes and Fine-grained rendering controls It’s completely free to use, Please consider supporting the project to help upgrade the server and fund further development.
