ChatGPT Privacy Lock helps protect private ChatGPT navigation from shoulder-surfing and casual access by masking areas that may reveal conversation titles, pinned chats, projects, library content, search entry points, and Chat/Work home history. Your active conversation remains fully usable. The current chat, message input, attachments, voice controls, and send button are not blocked. KEY FEATURES • Protect selected ChatGPT areas with a local PIN. • Choose exactly what to hide: Search chats, Library, New chat, More and general links, Pinned chats, Projects, Previous chats, and Chat/Work home history. • Unlock only the clicked item or unlock the entire sidebar. • Previously opened items can remain visible together until the unlock timer expires. • Opening a Project can reveal that Project and its child chats while keeping other Projects protected. • Automatically distinguishes Projects from Chats and replaces private titles with clear generic labels. • Choose a custom unlock duration from 1 to 120 minutes. • Switching tabs or windows does not end an active unlock session. • Lock everything again instantly with Lock Now. • Enable, disable, save settings, and change mask colors without refreshing ChatGPT. • Choose from Indigo, Emerald, and Rose liquid-glass mask styles. • Keeps navigation categories identifiable while concealing private names. • Includes a redesigned popup and a clean, responsive PIN dialog. • Supports English and Simplified Chinese. • Stores settings and PIN-derived data locally using chrome.storage.local. • Protects the PIN locally using PBKDF2 with a random salt. • Does not collect, upload, sell, or share ChatGPT conversations or browsing data. SECURITY SCOPE This extension is a privacy UX layer designed to reduce shoulder-surfing and casual-access exposure. It is not a replacement for device locking, Chrome profile protection, account security, or multi-factor authentication.
