ChatCarton – Export ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini

Export the open Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT conversation to Markdown, text, JSON, or PDF. On your device.

ChatCarton exports the conversation you have open. It works on Claude (claude.ai), Gemini (gemini.google.com), and ChatGPT (chatgpt.com), including custom GPTs and ChatGPT project chats. Open the chat, then click the ChatCarton toolbar icon or the Export button on the page. You can save: Markdown, with lists, tables, links, and fenced code Plain text JSON, with the turns in order PDF, from the print dialog (choose Save as PDF) Or copy the Markdown to the clipboard Images and file chips are written as placeholders such as [Image] or [File: name], not as the original bytes. Only the turns currently on the page are included. A very long chat may be virtualized by the site, so scroll if you need older turns loaded. ChatCarton is free and export-only. It does not upload the conversation. There is no account, no analytics, and no remote code. One preference (whether the on-page button is shown) stays in chrome.storage.local on your device. A print job stays in chrome.storage.session only until the print page has read it. Permissions are storage, scripting, and host access to those three sites. Scripting is used only when you open the popup and that tab does not already have the exporter running, for example after an extension update. It injects ChatCarton’s own file. It does not download code. Pro features (saved folders, search across chats, bulk zip) are not in this version.
