Overview
Organizes Whatnot live chat into buyer threads and an unanswered-question queue in the Chrome side panel.
Never miss a buyer's question in your Whatnot live chat. ChatCaddy opens in Chrome's side panel next to your Whatnot show and turns a fast-moving chat into something you can actually keep up with — whether you're the seller, a moderator, or running a support show. • Unanswered-question queue — questions land in a queue, oldest first, so nothing slips past while you're talking about an item. Mark them done, dismiss them, or jump straight to a reply. • Buyer threads — every chatter gets their own thread, so you can see what someone asked earlier without scrolling back through the whole chat. Search threads by name or message text. • Expand context — see the messages around any message to understand what it was replying to. • One-click replies — prefill an @reply in Whatnot's chat box; you press Enter to send. • Local timestamps on every message. Free: buyer threads, the question queue, and rules-based question detection. On Free, your chat is never sent anywhere — it's organized entirely in your browser. Pro: AI classification with no API key needed, plus cloud chat history and CSV export for every show you open. ChatCaddy is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Whatnot. Privacy policy: https://chatcaddy.app/privacy · Support: support@chatcaddy.app v0.1.1: • Fixes stream detection when you open a show from inside Whatnot or had the tab open before installing; adds a "Reload the Whatnot tab" fallback. v0.1.2: • Mod answers now stay in the queue with an "Answered by @mod" badge so the host can add to them (switchable in Options), and clear the ChatCaddy badge in chat. New option to queue questions from mods and cohosts. Fixes stream detection when opening a show from inside Whatnot, and stale chat badges after updates. v0.1.3: • A plan chip in the side panel header: "Free · Upgrade" or "Pro". • An alert banner when someone raids into the show. • A green "Answer" button next to Thread on every queue card. • Works on the host's own seller dashboard as well as viewer show pages: chat capture, avatar badges, and a "User Thread" option in the dashboard's user menu. • Smarter question detection with AI sorting: catches questions without a "?" and drops ones that aren't really questions. • Questions hidden as banter are hidden consistently in the queue, the threads and the chat badges. v0.1.4: • Reply and post from the panel — type a message and send it to your Whatnot chat with Enter, post a pinned /announce, or send a mod-only /hide, all without leaving the panel. Emoji picker included. • Saved messages — keep your common replies one click away, grouped into categories (like raid thanks or giveaway winner). Use {username} and it fills in the right person automatically. • Raid and host alerts — a banner when someone raids your show (one click thanks them), plus alerts for red-chat and mod messages aimed at you. • Floating window — prefer not to use the side panel, or on a smaller screen? Pop ChatCaddy out as a movable, resizable window right on the show page, collapsible to a draggable bubble. • Local timestamps on every message. v0.1.4: • Mark as Answered is a checkbox at the top-right of every question card (queue and threads), with a check-off animation. • Questions the AI reads as chatter stay in the queue with a "Likely chatter" note; banter can be muted (default), hidden, or shown. • Stale questions stay in the queue with a "Waiting 20 min+" flag; optional setting collects them in a collapsed list. • Color-coded message intents in a colorblind-friendly palette across the queue and threads. • Red chat renders unmistakably red everywhere; mod /hide messages and announcements get flagged card treatments in threads. • "joined 👋" arrival lines are hidden from threads by default (still logged to Pro chat history); setting to show them. • Extension settings sync to the user's ChatCaddy account (no chat content — settings only). • Context button on queue cards shows surrounding chat; floating window animates to/from its bubble; version shown in options and the panel menu. v0.1.6: • On a narrow host dashboard (/dashboard/live) the extension switches to its floating window instead of the side panel — a squeezed dashboard distorts the host's outgoing broadcast. The old "window is too narrow" banner (and its page-zoom button) is removed. • The toolbar icon is now handled by the extension (`action.onClicked` instead of `openPanelOnActionClick`): on a narrow host dashboard it opens/collapses/expands the floating window; everywhere else it toggles the side panel exactly as before. No new permissions. • The floating window header gains a ✕ (dismiss — turns floating mode off; the toolbar icon re-opens it) next to the existing ─ (collapse to bubble). • Viewer /live pages are unchanged: the side panel opens there at any window size.
