Overview

Reduces lag on long ChatGPT conversations by collapsing older messages locally.

Chat Lite keeps long chat pages responsive by reducing rendering overhead. When conversations grow large, chat pages can become slow due to too many rendered message elements. Chat Lite improves performance by collapsing older messages into lightweight placeholders, while keeping recent messages fully rendered. What it does ● Keeps the most recent messages fully rendered (you choose how many) ● Collapses older messages to reduce DOM size and improve scrolling and input responsiveness ● Restores any collapsed message instantly on demand How it works ● All processing happens locally in your browser ● No network requests, no remote code, no tracking ● The extension only modifies page rendering and does not affect chat functionality Notes ● Collapsed messages are not searchable or copyable until restored ● If the page structure changes or is unsupported, the extension will remain inactive Chat Lite is designed to be quiet, minimal, and unobtrusive — it simply keeps long chats usable.
