Chat Folders adds a Folders section to the sidebar on claude.ai, so you can group your conversations the way you work. File chats into folders, find one by its title, and save the open chat as a Markdown file. Your folders stay on your device. WHAT IT DOES - Create, rename, delete, collapse and expand folders. - Add the open chat to a folder, or take it out again. Drag a chat from the sidebar onto a folder where the browser allows it. - A chat lives in one folder at a time. Adding it elsewhere moves it. - Search chat titles: case-insensitive, every word must match. - Export the open chat as Markdown: title, export time, who said what, code blocks, lists, tables and links. - Export a folder as a list of chat titles and links. - Light and dark themes follow the page. Deleting a folder never deletes a conversation. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO - It does not search message text, only titles. It finds filed chats and chats the sidebar currently lists, not older ones the sidebar has not loaded. - It does not sync between devices. - A folder export has no message text. Only the open chat can be exported with its messages. - Images, attachments and interactive panels become a placeholder or are left out. The file carries the export time, not each message's time. - Folders open in two tabs at once use last-write-wins. PRIVACY - The extension makes no network requests: no server, no analytics, no remote code. It does not read cookies. One link out: the Pro "I'm interested" button opens our web page in a new tab, with no chat or folder data attached. - Message text is read only when you press an export button, for the open chat only. Your browser saves it as a file on your device. The extension does not store or send it. - Saved on this device only (chrome.storage.local): folder names and collapsed state; for each filed chat its ID, sidebar title and time added; the time you pressed "I'm interested", if you did. - Permissions: storage, and access to claude.ai only. PRO (COMING SOON) We are considering message-text search, whole-folder export with messages, and syncing between devices. None of it is built, and there is no payment anywhere in the extension. The "I'm interested" button notes the time on your device and opens our page in a new tab, which is how we count interest. Not affiliated with Anthropic.
