Chartless listens to whatever is playing in your browser tab and shows you the chords — live, in key, on the beat. YouTube, streaming, practice tracks: pick up your instrument and play along. Because every song deserves a little chart. The mic is used only while you press Start; audio is analyzed in memory and never recorded or sent anywhere. No AI models, no cloud, no training on your listening, no guessing black box. Fast, predictable, and private by construction. PRIVATE BY DESIGN All audio analysis runs inside your browser. Audio is captured only while you press Start, analyzed in memory, and discarded. Nothing is recorded, nothing is uploaded, no account needed, no analytics. During use the extension makes zero network requests — the only network call it can ever make is the optional, user-initiated Pro license activation (license key + random install id, nothing else). Made by Creedy Solutions LLC. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.4.0 — a tuner you can watch • 3D tuner mode (Pro). A new "3D" tab next to Single in the tuner, with eight ways to see pitch — beat helix, gravity bowl, orbit, Shepard helix, cymatics, glide slope, phase sphere, locked strings. Pick one from the chip strip; a key under the picture says how to read it. Amber is sharp, blue is flat, green is locked. • Shepard helix is chromatic. Five octaves of labeled semitones on a spiral; play any note and the dot rides to it. • Cymatics rings true. Every note gets its own Chladni figure, more lines the higher you go, and the sand migrates when the note changes. • Locked strings breathe with the note. Low notes crawl, high notes blur, and a sharp string visibly beats against the grey reference. • The tuner respects your setup everywhere. Single and 3D now tune to your tuning's targets — capo, Sweetened, Just (song's key) — the way Strum on iPhone always did. Anything that isn't a tuning string stays chromatic. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.3.0 — the whole song, not just the moment The live chart tells you what's playing right now. This release adds hindsight. • Whole-song decoder. Let a song play through and Chartless re-reads the whole thing after the fact: a full chart with bar lines, the meter, the downbeat, the key. The live chart pulses along with it. • Meter detection grew up. 3/4, 4/4, and real 6/8 — compound meters get the eighth grid and the right bar lines. • You conduct now. Two new controls in the overlay's beat row: tap TAP along with the music and the decoder takes your tempo as a hint; hit "Tap the 1" on a downbeat and the count restarts there. The engine guesses, you overrule. • A/B loop. Pick loop points from the ribbon and Chartless drives the page's own player. Endpoints snap to bar lines, so the loop lands where the music does. • Bars, like the app. Expand the ribbon after the decoder has the song and the history reads as bar pills — each bar a rounded card with its chords inside and beat dots walking through the bar that's playing. Same look as Chartless for iPhone. • The chart maps the song, not your session. Loop a section twenty times, scrub back, jump around — the chart stays one clean pass, front to back. Chartless files everything it hears by where it belongs in the song. • Instrument tuner. Single-string tuning with an adjustable A4 reference, plus an intonation check, right in the popup. Strum/strobe, temperaments, and custom tunings live in Chartless for iPhone/Android. • AI-likelihood meter: an upload dated before 2023 is now a hard no. Pre-AI music can't be AI. • Cleaner popup. The Tuner, Recent Songs and Advanced Settings sections finally look like the buttons they are. • New icon — a chord grid under a tuner needle. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.2.1 — the AI meter caught up with YouTube • AI-likelihood meter now reads YouTube's current disclosure labels ("Made with AI", the AI badge, "sounds or visuals were altered") and catches channels spelled "A.I." — a self-declared AI channel that scored 35% now lands at 75%+ from the page alone. • No new permissions. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.2.0 — the ear got better This one came from a tester sending us one song the engine just couldn't hear: Roy Clark's Guitar Boogie. We dug in. Four upgrades came out. Off-pitch recordings, handled. Old masters and tape-speed rips sit between keys — this one was 20 cents sharp of concert pitch. Chartless now measures the drift, retunes its own ear to match, and shows you the offset next to the key ("E♭ major +20¢") so you know why the song fights your tuner. Blues, boogie, and rock detect properly. New dominant-7 hearing: the ♭7 that walking bass lines and shuffle riffs live on used to bleed the signal — now it counts toward the chord. No more blue-note flicker. A bent ♭3 in the lead could flip E♭ to E♭m and back. Same-root quality flips now need real evidence. Smarter key calls. When the chords you're seeing form I–IV–V, that tonic wins — even when a busy melody is pulling the math elsewhere. Fixed: the display could go quiet for 30+ seconds on a long-held chord. WHAT'S NEW IN 1.1.1 • Stage view fixed — the chord ribbon stays in one row along the bottom instead of climbing over the big chord. • Go wide — drag the overlay as wide as you like; the ribbon shows more chords as it grows, no expanding needed. • Side panel — click ⧉ in the popup to keep Chartless open in Chrome's side panel while you play. Close it and the toolbar popup is back. • "Pro" detection mode is now "Advanced" — Chartless Pro is the paid tier; the mode toggle shouldn't sound like it. Version 1.1.0 — you asked, here it is The first round of tester feedback came back and most of it was "more, please." So: more. • Bigger memory. The chord ribbon now keeps the last 50 chords, not 8. Tap the expand arrow to see the whole run laid out at once. • Stop means pause, not vanish. Hitting Stop ends listening but leaves the overlay and ribbon right where they are, so you can actually read what just happened. Close it when you're done. • Edit the ribbon. Hover a chord and X it out — mis-hears, false starts, whatever you don't want in the chart. • Export to PDF. One button turns the ribbon into a clean, branded chord sheet.
