ChannelMute hides videos and comments from the YouTube channels you choose to block, so they stop showing up in your home feed, search results, and the "up next" sidebar. HOW IT WORKS • Hover any video and press "✕ Block channel" • Or right-click any channel name or avatar and choose "Block this channel" • Or open the toolbar popup to block the channel you're watching, or paste a channel link or @handle Blocks apply instantly. No browser restart needed. WHAT IT HIDES • Videos and playlists from blocked channels on the home page, subscriptions, search results, and the watch-page sidebar • Channel results in search • Comments and replies written by blocked channels (optional, on by default) BUILT TO KEEP WORKING YouTube changes its page layout often, and blockers that depend on fragile page details break with it. ChannelMute identifies channels by their links, re-checks the page continuously, and shows a status line in the popup that tells you when it cannot recognise the page layout. Right-click blocking keeps working even then. YOUR LIST, YOUR DEVICE • Your blocklist is stored only in your browser • Export it to a file as a backup, and import it on another computer • Unblock any channel from the popup at any time PRIVACY ChannelMute has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no ads, and makes no network requests. It does not record what you watch or search. Your blocklist never leaves your device. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED • Storage: saves your blocklist and settings on your device • Context menus: adds "Block this channel" to the right-click menu • Access to youtube.com only: lets it hide blocked videos and comments on YouTube pages. It has no access to any other site. GOOD TO KNOW • Videos with several credited channels are matched by the first channel shown • Shorts shelves do not reveal their channel, so they cannot be matched • Opening a blocked channel's video directly by its link is not blocked • ChannelMute only changes what your own browser displays.
