ChannelFence is an open-source, privacy-first YouTube channel blocker for Chrome. Block a creator once to hide their content across supported Home feeds, search results, recommendations, Watch Next, Shorts, playlists, comments and direct pages. What's new in 0.2.8: - Hide sponsored feed cards on Home. - "Hide annoying YouTube features" hides supported Explore more topics and Playables/game shelves, featured or promotional banners, Premium/Primetime offers, recommendation prompts and feedback surveys on Home. - Choose small, medium or large thumbnails in a compact Home grid that adapts to your window. - Now available in 18 interface languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Bengali, Turkish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Italian and Dutch. - Follows Chrome's interface language automatically, or choose a language in settings. Other browser languages fall back to English. YouTube keeps its own language setting. - Arabic includes right-to-left layouts for extension pages and blocking controls. The new Home cleanup and grid options are off by default. Hiding sponsored feed cards does not remove ads during video playback. Features: - Block creators beside their channel name or from supported video menus. - Block from compact Shorts cards or their menus without opening the Short or leaving the feed. - Add a creator manually using their YouTube handle or channel URL. - Block the current creator in the Shorts viewer and continue to the next Short. - Hide Shorts shelves and cards from Home, search and other supported feeds while keeping the Shorts viewer available. - Hide collaboration videos when YouTube identifies a creator you've blocked. - Stop supported direct visits with a clear blocked-page screen. - Undo a block immediately or manage your complete block list at any time. - Pause blocking without deleting your list. - Import or export a private block-list backup. Privacy by design: No account, extension analytics, tracking, advertising, remote code or developer-controlled server. ChannelFence processes public creator names, channel identifiers, channel URLs and user-selected compact Short paths to provide blocking. Your settings and block list stay in Chrome's local extension storage and are never transmitted to the developer. ChannelFence reads page structure to apply your selected Home appearance preferences locally, without additional network requests. While your block list is not empty, or when you choose to block a creator from a compact Short, ChannelFence may send public compact Short URLs directly to YouTube to identify creators. Requests omit account credentials. ChannelFence caches returned creator metadata only in memory. It makes no requests to a developer-controlled server or non-YouTube service.
