Do you ever click on a recommended video, find you hate it and the channel owner, but are frustrated that there's no option to remove it from your algorithm? Do you think it's stupid that YouTube only exposes the "Don't recommend channel" option on sidebar recommendations? Then this is the extension for you! This extension allows you to block selected channels in Chrome; locally, it prevents you from seeing the selected channel and videos from the selected channel; and when a video from this channel appears in your recommended (which you won't see), it automatically sends YouTube's "Don't recommend channel" feedback and permanently updates your preferences with YouTube! No extra mental overhead needed. - - - Detailed Description - - - Choose **Hide channel** while watching a video or visiting a channel page. Channel Choices saves your selection for the current signed-in YouTube account. Local hiding filters matching video cards on supported Home, search, and sidebar layouts as they are identified. It works before and after YouTube feedback. Open videos still play, and some layouts or cards without a clear channel identity are skipped. Local hiding affects only this browser. Saving a channel also queues YouTube's "Don't recommend channel" feedback. It auto-sends when YouTube supplies that option for the channel on Home or in the sidebar, while a YouTube tab is on screen. Feedback can stay queued indefinitely. Features: - Choose a channel from a video watch page or channel page. - Turn local hiding on or off independently of YouTube feedback. - Queue YouTube feedback for the selected account. - See local hiding on/off and feedback queued, sending, sent, or unconfirmed. - Remove a saved channel to stop local hiding and cancel queued feedback. "Sent" means YouTube confirmed the request; it does not guarantee future recommendations. "Unconfirmed" may already have succeeded and is not retried automatically. Removing a saved channel does not undo feedback already sent. YouTube feedback can influence other devices using the same account. Before use, the extension explains its behavior and asks you to enable it. No channels are selected automatically. This initial version recognizes English native action labels. YouTube changes can interrupt button placement, channel identification, or feedback submission. Privacy: settings and selected channel records stay in local extension storage. A derived account key keeps choices separate between YouTube accounts. YouTube page data and session authentication are used only to provide these controls and submit your chosen feedback directly to YouTube. No analytics, developer server, advertising, or separate login. No Chrome Sync storage. This is an independent extension. Not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google. ## Single purpose Let users choose unwanted YouTube channels and manage their local filters and queued native recommendation feedback from YouTube watch and channel pages. ## Permission explanations - `storage`: retain the user's settings, account-scoped channel choices, and feedback status on the device. - `https://www.youtube.com/*`: identify the displayed channel and signed-in account, add controls, optionally hide matching video cards, and submit explicitly chosen feedback directly to YouTube. No remotely hosted executable code. All extension code ships in the upload ZIP. ## Privacy disclosures to reconcile against the final build Local processing still counts as handling data. Disclose website content, relevant YouTube navigation/interaction data, a derived account identifier, and transient use of YouTube authentication for the requested feature. Do not claim the extension handles no user data merely because it has no developer server.
