Overview
Block a channel once and stop seeing it: feed, search, sidebar, comments. Works with YouTube. Your list stays on your computer.
Block YouTube channels for good: one click, and a channel's videos stop appearing in your home feed, in search, in the sidebar and in the comments. YouTube's own "Don't recommend channel" is a suggestion the algorithm forgets. This is a blocklist — a blacklist you control: permanent until you say otherwise. HOW TO BLOCK A YOUTUBE CHANNEL 1. Hover any video and press "Block channel" — that is the whole interaction. 2. Or paste a channel handle or URL into the popup. 3. Changed your mind? One click on Unblock brings everything back. HIDE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL EVERYWHERE, NOT JUST THE FEED - Home feed and recommendations - Search results - The sidebar next to the video you are watching - Comments from blocked channels, if you leave that switch on The video you deliberately opened is never hidden. Blocking a channel is not the same as refusing to let you watch it on purpose. A YOUTUBE CHANNEL BLOCKER THAT TELLS YOU IT IS WORKING Extensions in this category have a habit of quietly breaking after a YouTube update, and people notice weeks later when their feed has refilled. So the popup asks the open tab what it is actually doing and reports it: running, how many items it hid on this page, or that the page needs a reload. The number on the icon is your block count. Your blocklist exports to a file and imports back, so it survives a new computer. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR COMPUTER No account, no sign-in, no sync. Your list is stored by Chrome on this machine and nothing else. The extension makes no network requests at all — not for analytics, not for error reporting, not for anything. Check it yourself: open Chrome's network inspector on the extension and watch it stay empty. One exception, stated plainly: when you uninstall, Chrome itself opens a short goodbye page on smallhelpers.com where you can say why you removed it. No analytics, no identifiers, answering is optional, and by that moment the extension is already gone. It asks for two permissions: storage for your list, and access to www.youtube.com. Nothing else, and no other site. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not block keywords, remove Shorts as a category, hide the sidebar, restyle YouTube or touch ads. Shorts shelves are outside its reach for an honest reason: YouTube renders those tiles without any channel link, so there is nothing to match a blocked channel against. Those are different jobs, and some already have good extensions. This one blocks channels. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I block a YouTube channel? Install the extension, hover any video from that channel and press "Block channel". It disappears from the feed, search, sidebar and comments; a tab that was already open catches up after a reload, and the popup tells you which state you are in. Can I block channels on YouTube permanently? Yes. The block holds until you remove it yourself — nothing expires and no algorithm forgets it. How do I unblock a channel on YouTube? Open the popup: your whole blocklist is there, one click on Unblock next to any name. Does it collect my data? No. There is no server, no account and no analytics; the list never leaves your computer.
