Overview

Fixes wireless audio lag by delaying video, and matches the delay to your AirPlay streaming mode automatically.

Streaming your PC's audio to wireless speakers introduces lag. The picture runs ahead of the sound, and lip sync falls apart — most noticeably on AirPlay and Bluetooth setups, where the delay can run from a few hundred milliseconds to several seconds. Frame Sync fixes this from the video side. It buffers video frames and redraws them a set number of milliseconds late, so the picture arrives at your eyes at the same moment the audio reaches your ears. It works on any site with an HTML5 video element, not a fixed list of streaming services. WHAT THIS VERSION ADDS Wireless latency is not a fixed property of your speakers. With TuneBlade it is mostly a property of the streaming mode — RealTime, Normal, Buffered and Custom each add a different amount of buffer, so a single saved delay is correct in exactly one of them and wrong in the rest. This version connects to TuneBlade's local HTTP control API and keeps the delay in step with reality: • Detects the connected AirPlay receiver and the active streaming mode • Stores a separate calibration for each receiver-and-mode combination • Switches to the right one automatically when you change mode • Derives every Custom-buffer value from a single measurement, since TuneBlade's Custom buffer adds latency roughly 1:1 in milliseconds • Optionally pins TuneBlade to a known buffer while video plays, then restores your previous mode afterwards FINDING YOUR DELAY Three ways, depending on how precise you want to be: • Type it in directly, if you already know the number • Calibration wizard — a flash and a beep fire together and you answer which reached you first; a binary search converges in five rounds • Microphone measurement — plays a tone and detects its arrival with a Goertzel filter tuned to that exact frequency, with tonality gating so room noise, thumps and door slams are not mistaken for the tone OTHER FEATURES • Per-site delay overrides • Pause without losing your calibration • Settings stored per machine, so a laptop and a desktop keep separate values SETUP FOR TUNEBLADE USERS TuneBlade's HTTP control server must be running on a fixed port — enable it under Settings > Remote Control, or launch with: TuneBlade.exe Silent StartHttpControl Port=54029 Enabling the server and setting the port are separate steps, and "auto" picks a new port on every start. Then enable "Follow TuneBlade streaming mode" in the popup, enter the port, and calibrate once per mode you use. The extension talks to 127.0.0.1 only. It never contacts any other host. PRIVACY No data is collected and nothing leaves your machine. Settings are stored locally in the browser. The only network request is to TuneBlade on the loopback interface.
