subtitles no longer appear

Subtitles do not appear anymore nor in subtitles nor in the right side where normally all subtitles of the video appeared (althought "on" button is of course on) Why?

It Got Rid Of Captions All Together

The extension stopped working and made it so captions on my computer no longer work. None of the videos I play have captions anymore, even when they say it is on- I had to get rid of the extension as it served no purpose and it broke the captions all together.

If a YouTube video shows English subtitles, can you get French translation, German translation, Japanese translation, etc?
