Insurance Lots — Car Auction History & AI Inspector
Overview
Copart auction history on the lot page — past runs, final bids, sellers — plus an insurer filter and AI photo inspection.
Cheap is easy to find on Copart. Cheap and genuine is not. This puts the difference on the page. THE FIRST THING YOU SEE, WITHOUT CLICKING ANYTHING Open a lot and the panel has already checked two public auction archives and put the answer at the top: sold before, ran before without selling, or no record found. It costs nothing, needs no API key, and it is the check that decides whether the rest is worth your time — a car already bought, repaired and put back through is one you walk away from. The link to the archive page is right there, so you can check us rather than trust us. WHAT THIS MODEL ACTUALLY DOES AT AUCTION Every night we record Copart's entire scheduled calendar. The difference between two nights is a set of numbers Copart publishes nowhere: how many of this model went under the hammer in the last month, how many failed to sell and were put straight back on with a new date, and where the bid stood on the morning of the sale. Counts, with their denominators, next to the car you are looking at. It is not a valuation and never pretends to be. FILTER SEARCH RESULTS TO INSURANCE-SOLD LOTS The filter Copart doesn't have. Every row in your search results gets a badge naming the consigning insurer — GEICO, USAA, Progressive, Farmers — or "seller not shown". One toggle hides everything else. Insurers sell first-time losses. Resellers sell cars that were bought cheap, cleaned up and relisted at a markup. Copart has no seller filter. Now you do. AUCTION HISTORY IN FULL The full record: every time this exact car has been through auction, what it sold for, who sold it, and every run that ended without a sale — with its final bid, the number Copart erases when it puts a car back on the calendar. Two archives are consulted, not one — the second only when the first has no record, so "nothing found" means nothing found in either. BEFORE-AND-AFTER PHOTOS When there is a previous sale, the extension pulls that listing's photographs and lines them up against today's, angle for angle, so you can see what was repaired — or just washed. LOT INTEL THE MOMENT YOU OPEN A LOT • Seller type — insurer, lender, rental fleet, dealer, charity • Title brand — with a hard warning on Certificate of Destruction, Non-Repairable and other titles that can never be registered • Document status — in hand, delayed, or bill of sale only • Run and drive, starts only, or nothing • Sale terms — pure sale, or on approval where the seller can refuse your winning bid No clicks, no key, no cost. AI PHOTO INSPECTION Sends the listing photos to Claude or Gemini with an inspector's checklist: overspray, uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint and lamps, airbag cover fitment, fresh fastener marks, flood residue. It names the panel and the fault, not just a score. BUILT TO BE HONEST Certain about red flags, careful about green lights. "No prior sale found" means the archives found none, not that the car is clean — and a lot neither archive has indexed is told apart from one they hold and report no sale for. It never calls a car a good buy and never tells you what to bid. FREE. YOUR KEY, YOUR DATA. Bring your own Claude or Gemini API key and pay that provider directly — roughly a cent or two per inspection. The seller filter, lot intel, the market numbers and the auction history need no key at all. Your key, your photographs and the lots you look at never reach us. The extension counts which buttons get pressed, with no identifier of any kind attached — a tally, not a record of a person. It sends anonymous error reports so a Copart page change gets fixed quickly, and — only if you say yes — anonymous usage data carrying a random install id. Never VINs, lot numbers or prices. The switches are in the popup. Not affiliated with Copart, Inc.
