CineMood uses ChatGPT (GPT-4o / GPT-4o-mini) or Google Gemini (Gemini 2.5 Flash) to handpick the best titles. - Netflix Viewing History Sync: Automatically syncs with your Netflix viewing activity to recommend fresh titles and filter out movies and shows you've already seen. - In-Page Floating Assistant: Seamlessly opens inside Netflix web as a sleek slide-over drawer, or as an independent browser toolbar popup. - Quick Surprise Pick: Can't decide? Let CineMood roll the dice on a critically acclaimed hidden gem tailored to your tastes. - Personal Watchlist: Bookmark recommendations directly into a clean, local watchlist. HOW TO USE Method 1: Toolbar Popup (Fastest — works on any tab without logging in) 1. Install the extension and click the CineMood extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. 2. The popup opens immediately displaying curated Netflix titles and moods. 3. Click any mood chip (e.g., "Mind-Bending & Twists", "Feel-Good Comfort", "Dark & Gritty") to test instant recommendation filtering. 4. Click the "Secret Categories" tab to browse and search Netflix's hidden sub-genre codes (e.g., Martial Arts, Zombie Horror). 5. Click the Bookmark icon on any title card to test the Watchlist, and click the thumbs up/down icons to test feedback recording. 6. Click the "Surprise Pick" button at the bottom to test random smart selection. Method 2: In-Page Overlay on Netflix (Host Permission verification) 1. Navigate to https://www.netflix.com (any page, even logged out or login screen). 2. Look for the floating red CineMood button in the bottom-right corner of the page, or click the extension icon in the toolbar. 3. The slide-over drawer will animate open directly inside the webpage. 4. If logged into a Netflix account, clicking "Sync Watch History" will read /viewingactivity locally to exclude previously watched movies. If not logged in, it gracefully falls back to local sample history with no errors. PRIVACY & DATA SAFETY CineMood is privacy-first. All your watch history, preferences, and API keys are stored 100% locally on your device in your browser's local storage. CineMood has no external servers, collects zero telemetry, and never sells or transmits your data to third parties.
