PNB-Watch - Dashboard Stay-Awake & Refresh
Overview
Keeps monitoring tabs awake with auto-refresh and tab rotation. Local-only, no tracking.
PNB-Watch keeps a monitoring dashboard alive on a screen nobody is actively watching. Wall-mounted displays, ops monitors, and always-on dashboard tabs share a common problem: Chrome eventually lets the display sleep, the tab goes stale, or a routine session timeout logs you out. PNB-Watch solves this without touching your dashboard's code or asking for any login credentials. WHAT IT DOES Keeps the display and system awake using Chrome's own power API, so the screen never blanks out. Auto-refreshes the tab you started it on, on a custom interval from 1 to 10 minutes - a normal reload, so your session and cookies stay intact. No logout. Optional auto tab switch cycles through every open tab in the window on its own independent timer (30 seconds to 10 minutes), so one display can rotate through several dashboards unattended. Run it alone, alongside the refresher, or skip it entirely. A small floating timer window shows a live flip-clock countdown and a draining progress ring, so anyone glancing at the screen can see when the next refresh or tab switch is due, without opening the extension popup. If a refresh fails to load, it retries automatically within about 20 seconds instead of leaving the tab on a stale error page, and shows connection status (fine, retrying, failing) so you can tell live data from a dead page at a glance. Every 20th refresh clears cache to prevent memory buildup on displays running 24/7. Tracks total refresh count and last successful refresh time. PRIVACY, BY DESIGN PNB-Watch does not use the "tabs" permission, has no host permissions, injects no content scripts, and makes no network calls of its own. It cannot read a tab's URL, title, or page content - it only ever knows "the tab you pressed Start on," tracked by a temporary internal tab ID. Every setting is stored locally on your machine. There is no analytics, no remote code, and no data ever leaves your browser. ONE LIMIT WORTH KNOWING Keep-awake stops the display and system from sleeping - it cannot override an organization's inactivity lock or screensaver policy. If your monitoring PC locks that way, that's a system policy exception to request separately; no browser extension can bypass it. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone running a dashboard, queue, or status board on a screen meant to stay live and current without a person babysitting it - operations rooms, reception displays, or any always-on tab that keeps timing out or going stale between glances.
