SEO Roger opens a panel on the right of the page you are viewing and checks it for search problems: title and description, headings, images, links, structured data, indexing and load timings. The page tools are free and need no account. A free SEO Roger account adds research tools that run on credits, and a paid plan adds metrics under Google search results. Click the SEO Roger icon in the Chrome toolbar to open or close the panel. It checks the page again each time you open it. Chrome does not let extensions read its own pages, such as Settings or the New Tab page. FREE, NO ACCOUNT NEEDED PAGE CHECKS SEO Overview: a score out of 100 from ten checks (title and description length, a single H1, image ALT text, indexability, canonical tag, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, structured data and load time), with each problem named. It also shows the HTTP status, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, link counts, load timings and domain age. Page Pro Analyzer: a pass or fail list of technical and on-page factors for any URL, with the impact of each, recommendations and CSV export. Core Web Vitals: time to first byte (TTFB) and first contentful paint (FCP) as the page loaded in your browser, rated against Google's thresholds. PageSpeed Insights: runs Google PageSpeed Insights on any URL, for mobile or desktop, and returns the four Lighthouse scores, lab timings including LCP and CLS, real-user data when Google has it, and the top opportunities, shown as raw data. Heading Optimization: the H1 to H6 outline, with a note when the H1 is missing or repeated or there is no H2. Image Optimization: ALT text coverage, images missing ALT or title text, broken images and image dimensions, with CSV export. Accessibility Checker: a score out of 100 from checks on ALT text, headings, link text, form labels, page language, title and viewport tags, landmarks, tab order and autoplaying media. Schema Validator: checks each JSON-LD block for @context, @type and the required and recommended properties of common types such as Article, Product, LocalBusiness and FAQPage. Structured Data: lists the page's JSON-LD, Microdata and RDFa items, and builds and validates new JSON-LD from a template. LINKS, INDEXING AND SITEMAPS Link Checker: every link on the page with its anchor text, internal or external type, rel value and HTTP status. Broken Links: the links on the page that fail, with copy and CSV export. Redirects Manager: follows a URL's redirects hop by hop. With a connected account it also tests the redirect rules saved in your SEO Roger account and writes them out for .htaccess, Nginx or Cloudflare. IndexAPI Connector: whether the page is set to index and has a canonical tag, plus the site's robots.txt and the sitemaps it finds. Hreflang Checker: invalid language or region codes, common mistakes such as en-UK, duplicates, empty or relative URLs, and a missing self-reference or x-default. Sitemap Downloader: finds and reads a site's sitemaps, including index files, and exports the URLs as CSV or TXT. Sitemap Visual Map: an XML sitemap as a tree you can expand and collapse. Robots.txt Generator: a robots.txt from presets, user-agent rules, allow and disallow paths, crawl delay and your sitemap URL. .htaccess Generator: Apache rules for your redirects, www or non-www, HTTPS, compression, browser caching and security headers. CONTENT AND META TAGS Keyword Density: the most frequent words and phrases on the page, at a URL or in pasted text, with the density of each and of keywords you enter. Word Counter: the page's word count, reading time and text-to-HTML ratio, plus a counter for any text you paste. Thin Content Finder: flags the page as thin below a word count you set and lists its very short paragraphs. Meta Tags Studio: edit the title, description, Open Graph and Twitter Card tags and preview them as a Google result, a Facebook post and a Twitter card. Meta Tag Placement: finds meta tags placed in the body instead of the head, on the current page or at any URL. Social Markup: the page's Open Graph and Twitter Card tags, with a share preview. SERP Simulator: previews the page as a Google result on desktop and mobile, and warns when the title or description may be cut off. COMPARE AND RESEARCH Competitor Comparison: the current page next to up to 3 competitor URLs on title and description length, headings, word count, images, links, canonical and robots tags, and JSON-LD. Bulk Page Comparison: up to 20 URLs in one table, compared on title and description length, word count, headings, images, links, canonical tags and JSON-LD, with CSV export. Link Building Prospects: the outside sites a competitor page links to, one per domain, grouped into rough types such as blog, directory and forum. Browser History Insights: your most visited domains and pages from the last 1, 7, 14 or 30 days. It is the only tool that uses the browsing history permission. UTILITIES AND REPORTS Page Extractor: the page's meta tags, headings, links, images, schema, text and resources, as CSV or JSON. Rendered Source: the page's HTML after JavaScript has run, ready to copy. HTML Cleaner: removes scripts, styles, inline styles, classes or Word markup from pasted HTML, and minifies or prettifies it. PDF Export: a PDF report of the page's score, issues and the sections you choose, made in your browser. NEEDS A FREE ACCOUNT AND CREDITS Connect a free SEO Roger account from the panel to use these tools. They spend credits from the same balance as your seoroger.com dashboard. A new free account includes one-time credits, which you can use once your email address is verified. Most of these tools show their credit cost before you run them. Domain Overview: authority score, estimated monthly organic traffic, organic keywords and backlinks for any domain, in the country you pick. The same domain and country again within 24 hours costs nothing. Backlink Analysis: backlinks, referring domains and broken backlinks for any domain. A run that fails is refunded. Page Authority: 0 to 100 authority scores for a page and its domain, with the page's backlinks and referring domains. AI Visibility: asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity a question a customer might ask and shows whether each one mentions your brand. Charged only when all three answer. Keyword Volume: monthly search volume and cost per click for up to 100 keywords, in the country you pick. Search Intent Finder: a keyword's search intent, with suggested titles, content guidelines and the headings used by the top Google results in the US, UK, Canada, Australia or India. Not charged when no results come back. Rank Check: where a domain ranks for one keyword in Google's top 100 results in the United States. Rank Comparison: set up a project with a domain, a country and an optional city, then check where it ranks for each keyword you add, with the ranking URL. Charged per keyword checked. Full Site Audit: opens a crawl of the current site on your dashboard, with issues sorted by severity. The crawl uses no credits and its page limit depends on your plan (50 pages on Free). Only the optional backlinks module is charged. NEEDS A PAID PLAN: SERP METRICS ON GOOGLE On Google search pages, a bar under each result shows the ranking domain's authority score (0 to 100), referring domains, organic keywords and estimated monthly organic traffic. It needs a paid SEO Roger plan, Starter or higher, connected to the extension. A results page costs credits when any of its domains has not been looked up in the last 30 days, and nothing when all of them have. Without a connected paid plan the bar appears with the values hidden. A missing value shows as a dash, never as a zero. Keyword Research: free ideas and questions, with volume, cost per click and difficulty in batches of 100. Deep research returns up to 100 keywords on Free, 300 on Starter and 1,000 on Pro and Agency. Rank Tracker: positions over time and whether Google's AI Overview cites you, with scheduled checks and drop alerts on Starter and above. Scheduled site audits (Starter and above): weekly or monthly re-crawls that email you when new issues appear or the health score drops. Roger AI: an assistant that reads your projects, rankings, audits and Search Console data before it answers. Link Prospect Vetting: checks up to 500 domains from a link seller's list before you buy, with a disavow file export. PERMISSIONS AND YOUR DATA Read and change data on all websites: to read the page you open the panel on, fetch the pages and sitemaps you ask it to check, and draw the bar on Google search pages. Browsing history: only for Browser History Insights. SEO Roger reads your history on your computer and does not send it anywhere. Storage: keeps your account connection, settings and recent Core Web Vitals results in Chrome. Active tab and scripting: to read the page you are viewing when you use a tool.
