Turn videos into live ASCII art: YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Instagram. ASCII Player adds an "ASCII" button to the video. Click it, switch on ASCII mode, and the video keeps playing, drawn entirely out of text characters, frame by frame, in real time. FEATURES • Works on YouTube (including Shorts), Twitch, TikTok and Instagram • On YouTube and Twitch the button sits right in the player controls; on TikTok, Instagram and Shorts it floats in the corner of the video • Toggle from the toolbar icon or with the Alt+A shortcut (change it in chrome://extensions/shortcuts) • Auto contrast: every frame is stretched to the full range of characters, so even dim videos look sharp • Four character sets: Classic, Detailed, Blocks and Binary • Font size from 4 to 16 px: smaller means more detail • Rendered on your GPU (WebGL), so playback stays smooth • Copy frame as text: puts the current frame on your clipboard as plain text, ready to paste into a chat, a code block or a text file • Your settings are remembered PRIVACY ASCII Player runs only on the four sites above, collects no data and sends nothing anywhere.
