Overview

Create polished product demos locally with up to 4K/60 FPS recording, smart focus, captions, privacy masks, and MP4/WebM export.

CCapture is a local-first screen recorder and compact video editor for polished product demos. Record the current tab or a selected window or screen, then refine the result without uploading your footage. What it is for and why install it: Use CCapture when you need to turn a raw walkthrough into a share-ready product demo without sending confidential product screens to a cloud editor. Capture, automatic focus, cleanup, captions, branding, and final export stay in one Chrome workflow, so you do not have to move a recording between separate recorder and editor tools. Key features: - Record tab, window, or screen content at up to 3840 pixels wide and 60 FPS when supported by the selected source and device. - Add optional tab or system audio, microphone audio, and camera video. - Generate a Focus Rail from privacy-safe interaction metadata for smooth, editable zooms around important actions. - Edit non-destructively with trimming, split and merge, pause suggestions, audio fades, camera placement, title cards, calls to action, and timed logos. - Present recordings in realistic browser and computer scenes, six aspect ratios, custom backgrounds, gradients, and mesh light styles. - Protect sensitive areas with fixed blur, pixelation, or solid privacy masks. Generate and edit captions with Chrome's on-device speech recognition when available. - Export locally to H.264/AAC MP4 or VP9/Opus WebM using the exact preset you choose. Original recordings are never overwritten. - Work without an account, cloud upload, analytics, telemetry, ads, or remote code. Privacy by design: During a tab recording started by the user, CCapture stores the recorded audio/video plus the page title, hostname/path, normalized click positions, focus bounds and role, scroll activity, route-path changes, and modifier-shortcut codes as local project data. This data is used only to label the project and create editable focus effects. CCapture does not read typed values, passwords, clipboard contents, cookies, the Chrome history database, DOM text, authentication tokens, or ordinary keystrokes. Camera and microphone access are optional and requested only after a user action. Requirements and limits: Recording and export capabilities depend on Chrome, the selected source, and the encoders available on your device. On-device captions require a compatible desktop Chrome version and an installed local speech pack. Automatic Focus Rail data is available on pages where Chrome allows script injection; desktop apps and restricted pages can still be recorded and focused manually.
