Check the Common Crawl visibility of the public site and exact page you are viewing, directly from a focused Chrome popup. DATA DISCLOSURE When you request a check, CC Index Check reads the current tab's sanitized URL. The query string and fragment are removed. The sanitized URL and domain are sent securely to the MAXPlaces quick-check API and, only when direct fallback is necessary, to Common Crawl's public URL Index and Metehan WebGraph. Internet requests also expose ordinary connection metadata, including the client IP address, to each recipient. MAXPlaces uses an IP-derived SHA-256 key for abuse prevention that expires after approximately 10 minutes. Direct fallback providers receive ordinary request metadata under their own policies. Recent lookup results are stored locally in Chrome. The extension does not read page content, monitor background browsing, require an account, run analytics, track location, or sell user data. Site visibility: whether host capture evidence was returned for the Common Crawl collection reported by the lookup. 2. Current page: whether a trustworthy capture was returned for the sanitized exact page URL. 3. Crawl context: the reported crawl collection and coverage window. 4. Capture evidence: captured URL, capture date, HTTP status, and MIME type when available. 5. HC Rank and PageRank: comparative positions from the Common Crawl WebGraph data reported by the provider. Lower rank numbers are better. 6. Clear uncertainty: provider failures, timeouts, rate limits, and unexpected responses remain Unknown rather than being presented as absence. FAST, FOCUSED WORKFLOW Open a public HTTP or HTTPS page, select the MAXPlaces icon, and request a check. The compact report separates host-level evidence from the exact current-page result. Use Recheck when you want to bypass the result saved on your device and contact MAXPlaces again. MAXPlaces or an upstream provider may still reuse recent provider evidence, and the popup identifies cached or last-confirmed information when applicable. LOCAL RESULT CACHE CC Index Check keeps a bounded local cache of up to 50 page reports. Successful results expire after 24 hours and inconclusive results after five minutes. Expired entries are pruned the next time the extension reads or writes its cache, and uninstalling the extension removes its local storage. A still-valid prior success may be clearly labeled Last confirmed if a forced live recheck fails. IMPORTANT RESULT LIMITS "Seen" or "Captured" means the lookup returned Common Crawl archive evidence for the displayed collection. "Not seen" is limited to the collection covered by that lookup and is not a search-engine indexing statement or a claim about every historical Common Crawl release. Common Crawl presence does not prove that any particular AI company, dataset, model, search engine, or answer system trained on, knows, cites, or recommends a page. The displayed PageRank is a Common Crawl WebGraph metric, not Google Search PageRank or a Google ranking. HC Rank and WebGraph PageRank are ranks rather than scores. Provider availability and live crawl data can change. Some public pages may return Unknown, Not seen, Not ranked, redirect-only evidence, or a prior Last confirmed result. Browser-internal pages, local files, and other unsupported URLs cannot be checked.
