Tweenshot: screenshots and animation frames
Overview
Screenshots and frame-by-frame animation capture in one sheet, ready to share with AI. Everything stays on your device.
Tweenshot captures what a still screenshot can't: how an element moves. Pick an element and Tweenshot plays its animation for you, capturing it frame by frame into one numbered, time-stamped contact sheet. Flag the frame that looks wrong, add a note, and copy the sheet together with a Markdown spec of the element (selector, box, keyframes, timing, per-frame CSS values, matching rules) to paste into an AI chat or a bug report. ANIMATION FRAMES • CSS transitions and keyframes, Web Animations and GSAP timelines are paused and stepped to exact times. • Anything else (canvas, requestAnimationFrame, dragging) is recorded live from the tab. • Hover, focus, keyboard focus, press and click are triggered for you, and the exit animation can be captured too. "All" tries every trigger in one run. • Dropdowns and menus that open elsewhere on the page are captured together with their button. SCREENSHOTS • Visible area, full page (fixed headers don't repeat), a region, or a single element. • Mark up with pen, highlighter, arrows, shapes, text and numbered steps, and pixelate private details before you share. EDITOR • Zoom and pan, pixel readout, onion skin and difference views, and a motion lane that shows where the picture jumps. • CSS changes, frame by frame. • Export a PNG sheet, GIF, WebM, single frames, or the spec as Markdown or JSON. KEYBOARD FIRST Picking, triggering and reviewing all have shortcuts: Alt+Shift+A for animation frames, Alt+Shift+R for a region, Alt+Shift+F for the full page. PRIVACY • No account, no analytics, no network requests. All code, fonts and icons ship inside the extension. • Tweenshot runs only in the tab where you start a capture, and only after you start it. It has no access to any website before that. • Captures stay on your device; exports go to your Downloads folder. • Exports leave out the query part of page addresses, and element specs redact form values and secret-looking attributes. Works in Chrome and other Chromium browsers, version 116 or later. Open source under the MIT license.
