Overview

Unit-price chips and local price memory on the stores you already browse.

Headline prices are decoys. A $4.29 bag and a $5.99 bag look like a choice until you do the math — the second one often costs less per ounce. TK puts that math on the page: a small unit-price chip on each product card, in the unit you actually shop in (oz, lb, ml, sheets, rolls), so your eye-scan finds the real deal instead of the headline. WHAT TK DOES • Unit-price chips on the search pages of the major U.S. grocery and retail stores — computed from the price and size printed on each card, in your preferred units. • Cross-checks itself against the store's own per-unit label when one is printed (e.g. "avg price $2.57/lb"). If TK's math disagrees with the store's label, both are shown so you can see the disagreement. • Local price history: every price TK reads is a dated observation stored on your device, so a card can show today's unit price against your own baseline — your average and lowest observed. • Custom stores: add any site with a card selector and TK treats it like a built-in. WHAT TK IS NOT • No account, no servers, no analytics. Everything stays in your browser; uninstalling removes all of it. See the privacy policy for the full list of what's stored. • No affiliate steering. Nothing TK shows is paid placement — it compares numbers, not commissions. No "cheaper at X" popups, no checkout interposition, no cart migration. • It never decides for you. The page stays yours; TK just adds the shelf label the store forgot to print. PERMISSIONS • Per-site page access (optional, asked at runtime): TK never runs on a site until you enable it. When you open the toolbar icon on a store and press "Enable", Chrome shows its own consent dialog naming that exact site; only then does TK register a content script for that site. Sites you never enable are untouched. • "scripting": used only to install the per-site content script for sites you've enabled — at enable time, and whenever you open the toolbar popup on an already-enabled page (so the chips appear without a reload). It never runs on a site you haven't enabled. • "activeTab": while the toolbar popup is open, TK may read the current tab's site so it knows which store to show settings for. It never reads other tabs. • "storage": your settings (which sites are enabled, unit preferences, custom-site selectors). Your price history is stored separately, in the site's own browser database, and is not part of this permission.
