Tableport: Export Web Tables to CSV & Excel
Overview
Export any HTML table on the page to CSV, Excel, Markdown or JSON in one click. Private: runs locally, no data leaves your browser.
Tableport finds every table on the page you are looking at and exports it in one click – to CSV, Excel, Markdown or JSON, or straight to your clipboard so you can paste into Google Sheets or Excel. No account. No tracking. Nothing is uploaded: everything happens inside your browser, and Tableport only touches a page when you open its popup. WHAT IT DOES • Detects HTML tables (including inside shadow DOM and same-site iframes) and ARIA grids (the div-based "tables" many modern web apps use); layout tables are ignored • Hover a result to highlight that table on the page • Copy as tab-separated text – paste directly into Excel or Google Sheets • Download CSV (UTF-8 with BOM, so Chinese, Japanese, accented text opens correctly in Excel) • Copy as Markdown (README, GitHub, Notion, Obsidian) or download JSON (header row becomes the keys) • Merged cells (rowspan / colspan) handled correctly; multi-row headers are flattened ("Sales / Units") • Optional: repeat values in merged cells, include hidden tables, trim whitespace • Large tables: up to 100,000 rows × 500 columns • CSV and clipboard safety: cells that start with = + - @ are neutralised so a scraped value can't run as a spreadsheet formula (Excel files store such cells as plain text) PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Minimal permissions: only "activeTab", "scripting" and "storage". Tableport does NOT ask to read all your websites, your tabs or your browsing history. • No remote code, no analytics, no ads, no servers. • Works offline. EXCEL AND BASKET (included, free) • Excel (.xlsx) export with bold frozen header, auto-filter, column widths, real numbers and percentages • One workbook with every table on the page (one sheet per table) • Basket: collect tables from several pages, then export them together – merged into a single sheet with columns matched by header, plus an optional "Source" column No account, no ads, no row limit. KNOWN LIMITS • Tables rendered as images or canvas (e.g. some charts) can't be read. • Tables inside embedded frames that come from another website cannot be read (Tableport tells you which frames were skipped). Open the frame's own address in a tab to export it. • To use Tableport on local files (file://), turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for it in chrome://extensions. • Browser-internal pages and the Chrome Web Store can't be read by any extension. • Very large "virtualized" tables only contain the rows currently loaded in the page. Tableport is an independent project and is not affiliated with any website it is used on.
