Caylex Capture

Capture authentication cookies and network traffic for Caylex MCP server onboarding.

Caylex Capture is the official companion extension for the Caylex platform (https://caylex.ai). It records the network traffic and authentication state of a user-initiated login flow, so Caylex can generate a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for any web application — including SaaS tools without public API documentation. This extension is intended for users of the Caylex platform. It is not a standalone tool. ══════════════════════════════════════ How it works ══════════════════════════════════════ 1. From the Server Foundry section in the Caylex web app, start a capture for a target site (your CRM, analytics dashboard, internal tool, etc.). 2. The extension opens a separate browser window pointed at yoru target site.. 3. You sign in normally — exactly as you would in any browser tab. 4. While you interact with the site, the extension records the underlying HTTP requests and responses (trace mode) or captures the resulting session cookies (cookie mode). 5. When you're done, click the floating "I'm Done" button — or the extension auto-detects completion via a configured URL pattern or login signature. 6. The captured data is uploaded to your Caylex tenant and used to generate an MCP server. ══════════════════════════════════════ What gets captured ══════════════════════════════════════ • Cookie mode: session cookies for the target domain. • Trace mode: HTTP request and response bodies from the capture window, used to infer an OpenAPI specification for the site's underlying API. Static assets (images, fonts, CSS, JavaScript) are filtered out before upload. The extension only captures activity inside the capture window it opens — never your other tabs. ══════════════════════════════════════ Where the data goes ══════════════════════════════════════ All captured data is sent only to your Caylex tenant's account (https://app.caylex.ai). Authentication uses the existing Caylex session you already have with the web app — the extension does not store or transmit any credentials itself. No data is ever sent to third parties. ══════════════════════════════════════ Requirements ══════════════════════════════════════ • An active Caylex platform account — sign up at https://caylex.ai • You must be signed into Caylex in the same browser profile ══════════════════════════════════════ Permissions ══════════════════════════════════════ This extension requests several permissions to do its capture work: • Cookies — read session cookies on the user-selected target site after login, and read the Caylex session cookie to authenticate uploads. • Debugger — attach to the capture window to record HTTP traffic via the Chrome DevTools Protocol's Network domain. Only the user-initiated capture window is ever debugged; your other tabs are never inspected. • Scripting — inject the "I'm Done" overlay into the capture window so you can finish capture. • Web request — detect login completion based on the configured URL and method pattern. • Tabs and storage — track the capture window's lifecycle and persist active-session state across service worker restarts. • All URLs (host permission) — target sites are chosen by you at capture time and could be any web application; the set of URLs cannot be enumerated ahead of time. ══════════════════════════════════════ Support ══════════════════════════════════════ For help, contact your Caylex account team at support@caylex.ai or visit https://caylex.ai.
