Category Suggestion Assistant helps a Shopify merchant accept the suggestions Shopify already made for them. When you open a product in your Shopify admin, Shopify Magic may suggest a product category and a set of product metafields. Accepting them by hand means clicking through every product one at a time. This extension does that clicking for the product you are looking at, from a single button. Working through a list: filter the product list in your Shopify admin to whatever you want to work on, then preview it in one go, read the results, and apply them if they look right. It works only within the filter you set — it does not search for products outside it — and the tab stays yours to stop at any time. It shows you what would change before it changes anything. • Dry-run is the default. It reports the suggestion it found and touches nothing. • Applying requires ticking "allow changes" first, then pressing Apply. • It only ever accepts what Shopify itself proposed. It never invents a category, never overwrites a category you already set, and never clears anything. • If Shopify's markup changes and the extension is no longer certain it has found the right button, it refuses to click and tells you so, rather than guessing. • A save counts as successful only when the admin confirms it — the extension does not treat a greyed-out Save button as proof that anything was stored. • While a batch runs it shows how many products are left and roughly how long that will take, measured from the ones it has already done. If it notices a second tab working through the same list, it stops and says so rather than letting the two skip products between them. Limits: 30 products per calendar month, counted by the extension in the browser it runs in. Previewing is unlimited and never counts — only a product you actually apply a change to does, and only when Shopify confirms the save. The popup shows what you have used and when it resets. Everything stays on your machine. The extension has no server, no account, and no analytics; it sends nothing anywhere. It keeps a local record of each run so you can see what it did, and you can export that record to a JSON file whenever you want. The monthly count is read from that same local record — nothing is reported anywhere. What it does not do: • It does not read any site other than your Shopify admin product pages. • It does not touch orders, customers, payments, or your Shopify credentials. • It does not run in the background.
