)Overview
Capture full pages cleanly — pixels for you, real text for your AI — in a library of files you own. All on your machine.
Your research is scattered — tabs, screenshots, notes you can't find again. catchroll catches the piece that mattered: what it looked like, what it said, where it came from. Capture a region you draw, the visible screen, a single element, or a full scrolling column — top to bottom, readable by a model. Where it came from comes along on its own. Arrange captures on a big canvas like a vision board: drag, resize, draw arrows, add notes, redact what shouldn't be there. Redaction destroys the pixels — it isn't an overlay. Own the results as plain files on your disk: PNGs, portable .catchroll canvases, and Markdown built for AI — readable by Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or whatever comes next, locked to none of them. No servers. No accounts. No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking identifier. Everything stays on your machine unless you move it yourself. Getting started - Initiate capture from the popup button or the keyboard shortcuts. - Follow the active-tab overlay prompts to complete a capture (for Scroll Column — press your mouse wheel and auto-scroll, tuning to "green" capture speed for best column scroll captures). Successful captures populate to the popup's capture roll. - The roll holds your ten most recent captures — an eleventh pushes the oldest out. - Select capture(s) and press CANVAS to send them to the canvas, or save them individually as PNG files. - Open catchroll canvases from the tool — LOAD or your connected library — never by double-clicking in Explorer. (The OS shows raw file bytes; the tool is how you reopen your work.) Good to know - A capture picks up what sits inside your frame — including text behind overlays in that area. Close floating chat and DM windows before you capture. - Redaction removes the saved text and the source pointer from every file you save or export. - A very tall, narrow scroll column can land on the canvas as a blank white area — wide columns go much further before this happens. The capture itself is fine: EXPORT PNG still works, and the saved text and source come with it. Refresh the canvas tab to get the board working again (CLEAR CANVAS on its own may not do it), and re-capture that one in a wider or shorter column to place it on a board. - There may be some sites that are uncapturable. Let us know if you find one. This usually looks like catchroll not prompting at all. - Usually, a refresh of the page and a second try works if catchroll prompts normally but the intended capture doesn't populate to the popup's capture roll.
