Overview

Warns about deceptive links, fake alerts, fake sign-in pages, payment scams, and dangerous instructions before you click or act.

Catch a Scam warns you the moment a website tries to trick you, before you click, type, pay, or run anything. Most scams don't break in. They ask you to open the door: a fake virus alert that tells you to call "support," a "verify you're human" box that tells you to paste a command into your computer, a sign-in page that looks just like your bank, or a message demanding payment in gift cards. Catch a Scam spots these moments and shows a clear warning in plain language. FIVE SHIELDS, ALWAYS ON • Link Shield: checks links before you click. It catches look-alike addresses (like paypa1.com), links whose text names one site but go to another, and disguised addresses. Rest your mouse on a link for about a second for an online safety check. • Fake Alerts: spots pages pretending to be your computer or browser: fake virus warnings, fake "update your browser" screens, pages that try to lock your browser, and fake "verify you're human" checks. • Command Traps: warns when a page tells you to open Run or Terminal and paste something to "fix" or "verify" a problem. Real websites never need you to run a command on your computer. • Password Guard: marks password boxes. Red means the page imitates a well-known site, isn't encrypted, or would send your password insecurely. It never reads what you type. • Payment Guard: warns when a page pressures you to pay with gift cards, cryptocurrency, or a money transfer, and checks that the page asking for your card is genuine and secure. It never sees what you type. PLUS • Block Scam Sites: when Catch a Scam warns you about a page, you can block that site with one click so it never opens again in this browser. Change your mind anytime: unblock it from the toolbar menu. • Strict Mode: asks before opening a link Catch a Scam already flagged as dangerous. • Extension Watchdog (optional, off by default): alerts you when another extension gains access to every website or to sensitive data. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Page analysis happens on your device. Online link checks happen only for a link you deliberately hover. Sites you block stay on your device. We don't sell your data, show ads, or keep your browsing history. FREE AND FOUNDING LIFETIME Every warning is free, forever, with 100 online link checks a month. Founding Lifetime ($149.99 once, first 500 customers) adds 1,000 online link checks a month and an AI second look at suspicious pages. Questions? support@catchascam.com
