Carbon Lens shows a transparent, indicative estimate of the climate impact of the experience you are browsing: city tours, tuk-tuk rides, boat trips, food tours, escape rooms, workshops, events and more, on marketplaces like GetYourGuide and Viator or on operators' own websites. Open the popup on any experience page and Carbon Lens reads the public content of that page (title, description, structured data and visible text), classifies the experience with deterministic rules, and estimates kg CO2e per participant with a full breakdown: transport, energy, food and materials. Built for honesty: Every assumption is declared. Defaults are listed under "Assumptions used" and can be edited, with instant recalculation. A confidence badge (high, medium, low) tells you how much of the estimate came from the page versus category defaults. Comparisons are always relative ("X% below the typical estimated impact of similar experiences"), never absolute sustainability claims. The methodology and every emission factor are shown in-app, calibrated against public reference data (Iberian grid intensity, DEFRA 2025 transport factors, published LCA studies). Private by design: everything runs locally in your browser. No account, no tracking, no telemetry, no data collection. The extension works entirely offline from any server.
