CaptureProof Pro
Overview
Privacy-first full-page screenshots with automatic PII detection, one-click redaction, annotation, and client-ready reports.
Sharing a screenshot is a one-way action. Once the image is in a ticket, a group thread, or a client email, everything that was on screen has been shared — including the parts you didn't stop to look at. CaptureProof Pro puts a review step in between. Capture a full web page, and the extension scans what it captured for values you probably didn't mean to publish: email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers, tax IDs, API keys, IP addresses. Each one is listed and rated, highest risk first. Black out everything, black out only the high-risk items, or tick through them one by one. Then export a plain image or a formatted proof report that records where the screenshot came from and when. All of it happens inside your browser. WHAT IT DOES - Capture — the full page (it scrolls and stitches automatically, including pages that scroll inside a panel), just the visible area, or a region you drag. - Detect — flags likely sensitive values: emails, phone numbers, credit card numbers (checksum-verified), tax IDs, API keys and tokens, IP addresses, dates and amounts. Each is rated high, medium or low, and the list is ordered so high-risk items are the first thing you see. - Redact — one click for everything, one for high-risk only, or select items individually. Redactions are solid black painted into the image itself. The pixels underneath are gone, not hidden beneath a layer that someone could peel off later. - Annotate — arrows, boxes, highlights, text, numbered steps, and crop. Select anything you've placed to move, copy, paste, duplicate or delete it. Unlimited undo and redo. - Export — PNG or PDF. Export the screenshot on its own, or a proof report carrying the source URL, page title, capture time, and a summary of exactly what was redacted. Templates for general proof, client updates, support tickets and bug reports. WHO IT'S FOR Freelancers and agencies sending work-in-progress to clients. Support and QA teams attaching screenshots to tickets. Anyone who documents what a page looked like at a moment in time and needs the record to be shareable. PRIVACY The extension makes no network requests. There is no server, no account, no sign-in, no analytics, and no tracking. Your capture is written to local storage only long enough for the editor tab to pick it up, then immediately deleted. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to be uploaded to. PERMISSIONS - activeTab and scripting — read the page you are capturing, and only when you click the toolbar button. - storage and unlimitedStorage — pass the capture from the background worker to the editor tab. Full-page captures of long pages can exceed the default storage quota. There are no host permissions, so the extension cannot run on pages you have not explicitly asked it to capture. A NOTE ON DETECTION Detection is pattern-based. It reliably catches common formats, but it is an assistant, not a guarantee — unusual formats can be missed, and ordinary text can occasionally be flagged. Review every capture before you share it. The manual redaction tool is there for anything the scan does not catch.
