Overview
Full page screenshot tool: capture entire web pages or scroll, then annotate, blur, crop & save as PNG, JPEG or PDF.
Take a full page screenshot of any website in one click, mark it up with a complete editor, and save it your way — all locally in your browser. No account, no uploads, no tracking. ★ CAPTURE, YOUR WAY • Full page — automatically scrolls and stitches the entire page into one tall, seam-free image. • Scrolling screenshot ("capture more") — scroll to exactly where you want it to end, then click Done, like a phone's scrolling screenshot. • Visible area — grab just what's on screen. • Region — drag a box to capture any part of the page. • Element picker — hover to highlight any element (card, table, section) and click to capture exactly it; press ↑/↓ to widen or narrow the selection to the parent/child. • Scrollable area (NEW) — capture the full contents of an inner scroll box — a chat thread, side panel, or scrolling table — including everything hidden behind its own scrollbar. Works both vertically and horizontally, and auto-highlights the scroll container as you hover. • Timer — add a 3s or 5s delay to capture hover menus, tooltips, and dropdowns. ★ A COMPLETE ANNOTATION TOOLKIT • Draw with pen, line, arrow, rectangle, ellipse, and highlighter — with dashed lines, single/double arrow heads, and adjustable opacity. • Callouts / speech bubbles (NEW) — a rounded bubble with an editable tail that points at anything. • Emoji stamps (NEW) — one-click 👍 ✅ ⚠️ ⭐ 🔥 💡 🐛 markers plus a custom-emoji input; vector-rendered so they stay crisp at any zoom. • Add text labels with Bold / Italic, a glyph Outline for busy backgrounds, and a filled Background pill for readability — plus numbered step markers (1, 2, 3…) for tutorials and bug reports. • Redact three ways: blur, pixelate, or a solid black bar. Spotlight dims everything outside a region to focus attention. • Insert an image or watermark — drop in a logo, resize, rotate, and dial down opacity; it bakes right into the export. • Crop to any size — with new presets for 1:1 / 4:3 / 16:9 / 9:16 and social cards (Twitter/X 1200×675, OG 1200×630, LinkedIn 1200×627). • Any color with a custom picker AND an eyedropper (NEW) that samples any pixel from your screenshot, plus a Recent-colors row for one-click reuse. • Select, multi-select (NEW) with marquee or Shift-click, move, resize, rotate, duplicate, copy/paste, reorder, delete. Full undo/redo. • Align & Distribute (NEW) — line up multiple shapes on any edge or space them with equal gaps. Pink snap guides appear while you drag. • Lock / Hide shapes (NEW) — pin a watermark so it can't move, or hide a shape without deleting it. • Save your tool styles as named Style Presets (NEW) — one-click reuse of your favorite color + size + opacity combinations. ★ EDITABLE PNGs (NEW in v1.6) • Every PNG CaptureKit exports carries your shapes and base image in a compressed metadata chunk — invisible to every other tool, but drop that PNG back into CaptureKit later (drag onto the editor, Ctrl+V, or use the popup dropzone) and the whole annotation session comes back fully editable. Every shape is still selectable, every layer still there. • Nothing extra to configure. It just works on PNG exports. ★ RECENT CAPTURES • Your recent screenshots are kept locally for quick access — reopen, download, or delete them from a built-in gallery. Nothing is uploaded. ★ SAVE HOW YOU LIKE • Export as PNG, JPEG (with quality control), or multi-page PDF. • Print (NEW) — send the annotated screenshot straight to your printer. • Copy straight to your clipboard. • Copy link (NEW) — copy the current capture as a data: URL or session-scoped blob: URL, straight to your clipboard. Local only, nothing uploaded. • Copy path after download (NEW) — the Download button briefly turns into "Copy path" for 8 seconds so you can paste the saved file path into chat or a terminal. • Native share sheet (NEW) — a Share button opens the OS/browser share sheet on ChromeOS and mobile Chromium. • Choose what happens after capture: open the editor, download instantly, or copy. • Custom filename templates (e.g. capturekit-{site}-{date}). ★ OPTIONAL SHARING SERVICES (NEW in v1.6 — off by default) Everything above is 100% local. If you want one-click handoff to a hosted destination, Options has a master "Sharing services" switch you can turn on, plus per-service toggles. Nothing runs until BOTH the master and a per-service toggle are on AND you click the corresponding button in the editor. • Slack markdown — no network. Copies a caption line + the image to the clipboard together; paste into Slack, the image attaches, the caption becomes the message. • Google Drive — uploads to YOUR OWN Drive using Chrome's built-in sign-in, scope drive.file only (CaptureKit can never see files it didn't create). Copies the shareable Drive link to the clipboard. • Imgur (temporarily disabled — coming soon) — anonymous Imgur upload; queued behind their app-registration process. ★ MAKE IT YOURS • Light, dark, or system theme. • Toolbar as a top bar or a left/right sidebar. • Set your default capture mode, format, and quality — and it remembers your last tools. • Per-mode keyboard shortcuts. • Built-in User Guide (NEW) — a proper docs page with sections for every tool and a full keyboard-shortcut reference. Reachable from the popup, editor, and settings. • Redesigned Settings page — one-tap segmented buttons and pill switches replace every dropdown. ★ PRIVATE BY DESIGN • 100% local by default — your screenshots never leave your device unless you explicitly turn on a sharing service AND click its button. • No analytics, no trackers, no external servers, no sign-in required. • Uses only the activeTab permission (no broad access to your browsing). Optional Google Drive and Imgur uploads only run on user click, only when their toggle is on. Perfect for bug reports, product documentation, design feedback, tutorials, saving long articles or receipts as a screenshot or PDF, and safely redacting private information before you share.
