Capture Assistant — Screenshot and Annotate

Grab a region, an element or the visible page, mark it up with shapes and labels, then copy or save it as a PNG.

Most screenshots need one more thing before they are useful: a box around the part that matters, an arrow, a word of explanation. Capture Assistant does both halves in one pass, without leaving the page. Click the toolbar button. Drag a region, or point at an element and let the picker snap to its exact edges — press the up arrow to take its parent, the down arrow to go back in. The moment you let go, the capture opens with the tools already under your cursor. • Six tools on number keys — select, outline an element, rectangle, circle, arrow, text • Outline an element inside the capture too: hover, arrow up or down to change what you mean, then Enter. It hugs the real edges, not your aim • Nothing is final: drag marks to move them, drag a corner to resize, recolour them, delete them. Undo goes all the way back • Three text sizes, or drag a label's corner to scale it freely • Pick several marks with a box or shift-click and change them together • Copy to the clipboard with ⌘C, or save a PNG with ⌘S • "Same as last" retakes the exact rectangle you used before, which is what makes before-and-after pairs line up It asks for no site access. The extension runs only on the tab whose button you clicked, the picture never leaves that tab, and the one thing it remembers is the size of your last rectangle.
