CanvasCape

A suite of tools that enhance the Canvas LMS. Each tool is simple and designed with students and teaching teams in mind.

This extension adds a suite of useful tools to the Canvas LMS. After you *install* and *pin* this extension in Chrome, all you have to do is visit a Canvas course or account and click the red cape icon in your browser (see the screenshots). CanvasCape is a suite of lightweight tools that enhance the Canvas LMS for teaching teams, organized into course-level and account-level tools. At the course level, the largest group focuses on grading and analytics: Assignment Analytics provides quick stats and charts on assignment grades, Grader Analytics reveals who graded more or tended to leave lower grades, Batch Grade Import uploads grades (and optional comments) via CSV, and Who Grades Whom helps distribute grading responsibilities across a teaching team. These are complemented by attendance and punctuality tools — Rapid Roll Call for quick automated attendance-taking and Late Day Counter for tracking students' late day usage — as well as roster tools, including a Photo Roster grid of student images, a CSV Roster export of enrolled students, and a Teaching Team Member List of instructors, TAs, and other staff. The suite also includes course organization and content tools, such as the Pro Dashboard for common course management actions, Assignment Tracer for finding links to an assignment scattered across a course, Batch Group Creator for building student groups from a CSV, Discussion Exporter for downloading discussion topics and posts, Gradebook Notes Columns for adding extra note columns to the gradebook, and Search Course Content for searching assignments, quizzes, the syllabus, and more all at once. For Canvas admins working at the account level, additional tools support oversight across many courses: Course Audit generates in-depth reports on every course in one or more terms, List Courses with App identifies which courses have a specific app installed, Batch Syllabus Downloader gathers syllabus files across courses, User Search and cross-course content search help locate people and materials, and utilities like Email Address Validator and Move App to Top streamline account-wide maintenance.
