Sign in to Canvas Downloader directly from the Canvas tab in your browser. No password to type and nothing to copy - as easy as possible. Canvas Downloader is a free desktop app that downloads your Canvas course files and keeps your folders in sync with canvas as files are added. This small extension is optional: it lets the app sign in with the Canvas login you already have in your browser, so you do not have to sign in a second time. How it works 1. Open your institution Canvas website in a tab, or In the Canvas Downloader app: Click "Use the Canvas tab in my browser". 2. Click the extension icon in the top right, wait for it to get ready, and choose "Sign me in". The first time, Chrome asks whether the extension may read information from your Canvas site. That is the only site it ever gets access to. What it does and does not do - It only acts when you click it, on the tab you clicked it on. - It passes your Canvas login to the Canvas Downloader app on the same computer, and nowhere else. Nothing is sent to the developer, and there is no server. - It has no access to your browsing history and runs nothing on the pages you visit. - The app only accepts a sign-in while you are asking for one, and shows you whose account it is.
