Overview

All Canvas deadlines in one list, a final-grade calculator, dark mode, and Canvas+ AI: assignment guides, syllabus summaries, Q&A.

Canvas+ (Canvas Plus) makes Canvas faster to live with: every deadline in one place, the grade you need on the final, and an AI study helper that only uses your own course materials. Sign in once with a free Canvas+ account (Google, or a 6-digit code sent to your e-mail with no password) to start using Canvas+. 1. EVERY DEADLINE, ONE LIST • All your courses sorted by due date, with a live countdown • How much of your final grade each item is worth • Filter by type — show or hide assignments, quizzes, discussions and calendar events (pick any combination); events that have already ended drop off the list instead of showing as overdue • Tick things off (synced with Canvas To Do), reminders 24 h and 2 h before, export to Google / Apple Calendar • Calendar view: a month at a glance with a dot for everything due, tap a day to see its items • Instant notifications when a new grade is posted, your course total changes, your instructor makes an announcement, or a deadline is moved earlier or later • Exam reminders 3 days and 1 day before each exam, with how many mistake-book questions for that course you still haven't mastered • All my exams — every exam this term from each course's syllabus (and the course home page), sorted by date, added to Google / Apple Calendar in one click • Missing work — only what's still missing this term • Weekly workload — the next 4 weeks as coloured blocks above the list: the darker, the busier (exams and items worth a big share of the grade count most). Tap a week to see what's due; fold it away if you like 2. CANVAS+ READER (BETA) • Open any PDF on Canvas — a file preview, the Files page or a link in a module — in a full-window reader that zooms up to 800% and stays sharp • Sections by page, from the file's bookmarks or each page's title, to jump straight to a topic • Highlight text in four colours and add notes; box any area for scans, pictures and formulas • Download the slides with your highlights and notes written in — a normal PDF any PDF app opens • My notes: every highlight, grouped by course and file, one click back to the exact page • Resize file previews from the corner, the right edge or the bottom 3. CANVAS+ AI (free, 3 uses a day) • AI guide — reads the instructions, attached PDFs, Word files and links, and explains step by step how to do the assignment, what to hand in and where people lose points. It never writes the answers for you. Please follow your course’s rules on AI use. • Syllabus summary — exam dates (add them to your calendar in one click), grade breakdown, late policy, attendance, office hours. • Course Q&A — ask "Can I submit this late?" or "When is the midterm?" and get an answer based only on the course's syllabus, assignments and announcements, with the sentences it used. If the course doesn't say, it tells you. • E-mail your professor or TA — a polite, ready-to-edit draft for an extension, a rubric question or office hours. Your name and theirs are filled in on your computer. • Exam review pack — pick an exam; Canvas+ reads the slides, PDFs and notes in the modules it covers and builds a study outline, practice questions with explanations, and flashcards (export to Anki / Quizlet). • Mistake book — every question you get wrong while practicing a review pack is saved automatically, grouped by course; keep practicing until you've got each one right twice in a row. • Weekly digest — every Monday: new assignments, upcoming deadlines, grade changes and important announcements, plus "this week's focus". • Lecture notes for Zoom recordings — chapters with timestamps (click to jump), key points and what was said about exams, made from the recording's transcript (for recordings that have one). 4. PLANS • Free — everything above, with 3 Canvas+ AI uses a day • Plus ($3.99/month) — 10 AI uses a day • Pro ($5.99/month) — 30 AI uses a day Paid plans are optional, billed monthly through Stripe, and can be cancelled any time from the panel. Deadlines, grades, the final-grade calculator and all the Canvas tweaks stay free. 5. WHAT DO I NEED ON THE FINAL? • Pick a course and a target grade; Canvas+ tells you the score you need • Reads the grade breakdown from the syllabus when Canvas doesn't have it • Where you stand: about top X% of the class, estimated from the class statistics your instructor shares • A card for every course with your grade and how it got there — a trend line rebuilt from your graded work, right in your browser 6. MAKE CANVAS YOURS • Dark mode (or follow your computer's light / dark setting), course colours, a background picture, and hide the parts of Canvas you never use — including course-menu items like Discussions, People or Chat, and items in Canvas's far-left menu • Download all of a course’s files as one .zip, one folder per module • ⌘K / Ctrl+K search across courses, assignments, grades and pages • Found a bug or have an idea? A feedback form is built right into the panel (sign-in required) 7. PRIVACY Canvas+ reads Canvas in your browser with your own login — no passwords, no tokens. Your grades, highlights and notes never leave your computer. Your Canvas+ account only stores your e-mail address and plan. The AI features send only what they need (for example the assignment's text or the relevant parts of the syllabus) to the Canvas+ server, which doesn't keep the AI's answers; nothing is sold or used for advertising.
