Overview

Save what you read to your CanQuiz folders.

Keep what you read in your CanQuiz folders, next to the rest of your study material. Select text on any page and a small Save button appears under it. The side panel shows your selection: pick a folder, or make a new one, and press Save. What you save goes to that folder's Sources, where you can ask about it or make questions from it later. What it saves - Text, tables, lists and formulas, keeping their shape. - Code as a snippet, with its line breaks and a language label. - Images, a whole online PDF, or part of a PDF (select it, then right-click). - On YouTube, the moment you're at: the video title, the second and the caption on screen, with a link back to that second. What the panel shows - The folder at a glance: exam date, what's due today, today's saves and the latest ones, each with a link back to the exact spot. - How many of your questions already cover what you just saved. - Soft marks on the passages you already saved, when you come back to a page. - Ask your folder about the selection, or get a short explanation. These two use your monthly AI allowance. - When a selection looks like a list of questions and answers, Turn into a quiz opens it in the import page. What it doesn't do - It doesn't make questions by itself. You make them in the app when you want to. - Visiting a page sends nothing. Text leaves the page only when you press Save, Ask, Explain or Turn into a quiz. - It doesn't read your history or your other tabs, doesn't record what you type, and never reads what you select inside a form field, passwords included. - It turns itself off on graded quiz and exam pages it recognises by their address, such as Moodle, Canvas and Google Forms. It can't recognise every site. - It doesn't download videos or fetch transcripts. Good to know - You need a CanQuiz account. Signing in shows a permission screen that lists what the extension can do. - When you install it, Chrome warns that it can read and change data on all sites. That access is what lets the Save button appear wherever you select text. In Settings you can turn the button and the marks off, or hide them on one site. - Usage statistics (which features are used, never your text or the pages you read) can be turned off in Settings. - Works in Chrome on a computer. On Google Docs, use the toolbar button or Alt+S (Option+S on a Mac). - Up to 20,000 characters per save. Privacy: https://canquiz.com/en/privacy Questions: hello@canquiz.com
