CannibalAudit
Overview
Find pages competing for the same topics. Audit a sitemap, review likely keyword conflicts, and export a CSV assessment.
Give every page a clear purpose. CannibalAudit helps business owners, marketers and SEO teams spot pages that may be targeting the same terms and search intent. Enter a public sitemap, review potential conflicts and download a practical assessment you can use to plan improvements. HOW IT WORKS • Enter an XML sitemap, sitemap index or .xml.gz sitemap. • Scan sitemaps with up to 100 unique URLs, including their child sitemaps. • Find specific shared phrases in page titles and main headings, excluding site branding and article listings. • Review matching pairs and their specific phrases. Missing or repeated page titles and descriptions, template pages and demo content appear separately under Content cleanup. • Optionally ask Google’s automated review service to assess search intent, explain the evidence and suggest next steps. • Download a CSV with a short written summary, priority page pairs, recommended actions and page-by-page scan coverage. FREE AUDIT LIMIT The free audit covers up to 100 unique URLs in the submitted sitemap and its child sitemaps. Larger sitemaps stop before page crawling or automated processing. Contact Alameda Marketing for a larger audit and help fixing the issues. KNOW WHAT TO FIX The assessment helps distinguish pages that appear to compete from related content that serves a different purpose. A service page and an informational guide may work well together; two pages promoting the same service in the same place may deserve closer review. Recommendations can include clarifying page intent, differentiating titles and headings, improving internal links or investigating a content consolidation. Each matching pair includes the affected URLs and observed overlap. Reviewed findings include a potential risk level, confidence, evidence and a recommended action. Where justified, the assessment suggests a primary page to investigate—not a guaranteed ranking winner. BUILT FOR A CLEAR WORKFLOW The audit opens in its own tab so it can continue while you work. Keep that tab open until the scan finishes. Cancel a scan, filter findings and download the report from either CSV button. The two-step workflow separates scanning from review; interrupted reviews resume only unfinished pairs. Scan coverage makes unreadable pages, excluded URLs and limits visible. The most recent completed report is available within the current browser session. PRIVACY AND CONTROL The extension requests access to the site you choose. It does not watch your other tabs or track browsing history. Local comparisons and CSV generation run in your browser. Optional automated processing occurs only when you select “Review pairs,” after a disclosure of the page information sent through Alameda Marketing’s service to Google’s automated review service. No account or API key is required. Service usage limits apply. Optional usage analytics is off by default and can be turned off at any time. It measures tool events using pseudonymous identifiers, without sending audited URLs, page content or findings to analytics. Advertising personalization is disabled. The help form includes campaign attribution; website links use campaign links with click attribution. IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS The report identifies possible content conflicts, not verified ranking cannibalization. It does not access Search Console queries, clicks, impressions or ranking history. Confirm findings with Search Console and your business goals before changing, consolidating or redirecting pages. Suggestions can be incomplete or incorrect. Scanning is limited to the selected pages on the sitemap’s origin. The tool reads returned HTML and does not render JavaScript. Redirects, protected pages, off-origin entries and size limits can reduce coverage. Up to 60 matching pairs are included for review; the report discloses any truncation. A scan with no detected overlap is not a guarantee that the site has no conflicts. NEED HELP FIXING THE ISSUES? Ask Alameda Marketing for help directly from the audit screen. Enter your reply email and message; your full report is not automatically attached.
