)Overview
Estimates the water used by the data centers behind the services you use, and tells you if you still have enough left for a shower.
Can I take a shower today? Every video you stream, message you send and AI image you generate runs on data centers that use water to stay cool. This extension adds it up and tells you whether you still have enough left in your daily 100 litre budget for a shower. Open the duck icon at any time and you’ll see: A one-line answer, such as “Yes, you can take a 6-minute shower.” Where today’s water went: AI-generated media, AI chatbots, streaming, social media, search, music and cloud apps. A blue tank that drains as your usage grows. How it works The extension notices when you send a prompt to an AI tool or watch a stream, and adds a small estimated amount of water for it. The estimates are deliberately on the high side. They come from published figures on data center energy and water use, and every number is listed on the Sources page, one tap away from the popup. Private by design Everything is calculated in your browser. The extension doesn’t collect or send anything about you, the sites you visit or what you type. It never stores your prompts. Please note These are rough estimates, not measurements. The real water use of any single prompt or video varies a lot, so treat the answer as a nudge to think about it, not as a precise figure.
