Calm Read turns cluttered articles into a calm, distraction-free reading view — entirely on your device. How it works 1. Open an article page. 2. Click Enter reader in the toolbar popup. 3. Calm Read extracts the main article text and hides navigation, ads, sidebars, scripts, and other noise. 4. Adjust text size with A− / A+, or click Exit reader when you’re done. Best on pages with a clear article or main content block. Very short or app-like pages may not have enough text to extract. Privacy-first Article extraction runs locally in the tab. Only your preferred text size is saved with chrome.storage.local. No account. No analytics. No sync server. No remote reader service. Page content is never uploaded. Free, private, and built for comfortable reading without leaving the browser.
