Overview
The antidote to distraction is your to-do list.
The antidote to distraction is your to-do list. Here's why we made Caliph. You open YouTube "for a second." Twenty minutes later, you're still there. So you install a website blocker. It works: you hit a big "blocked" page. And then… nothing. Your mind goes blank. No task, no next step. So you open another site, or you turn the blocker off. The problem isn't just the distraction. It's that nothing tells you what to do instead. So Caliph does something simple. When you open a site you've chosen to pause, it shows your own to-do list right where the distraction would have been. Your next step is already in front of you. How it works • Pick the sites that pull you in, like YouTube, Reddit or Instagram. • Open one, and Caliph pauses it and shows your tasks. • Tick something off, start a focus timer on a task, or keep going to the site if you really want to. Caliph pauses; it doesn't lock you out. What else you get • A simple to-do list on the Caliph website (app.caliphapp.com): Lists, tasks, notes and subtasks. • A focus timer that keeps track of how long you spend on each task. • An optional account, so your tasks and paused sites stay in sync between the website and the extension. No account? Everything just stays in your browser. Great for studying, deep work, or just getting through your list. Privacy, plainly: Caliph checks a page's address only inside your browser, to see if it's on your pause list. We don't collect your browsing history.
